I believe the American people should have been deeply involved in an issue that affects the lives of millions. The way the whole health-care issue was handled was a travesty and an insult to every voter in this nation. Our congressional delegates have gone way beyond the intent and scope of constitutional limits. What ever happened to "We The People"? That most congressmen and congresswomen could pass this after closed-door negotiations with the President smacked of corruption. That attempts were made to placate us by saying, "...we need to pass this law so that we can see what's in it.." is admission of incompetence at least, or a major attempt to insult the intelligence of the American People. Either way, we should have voted on an issue so large, or it should not have been considered as a bill at all.
