I will be glad to clear this issue up with you because I am not on here to cause confusion.
When I recieve prayer for something, I have a personal thing I always do. I claim healing by faith. I do this because it restricts Satan from playing mind games with me, telling me I am not healed. I cant proclaim healing within just myself, I proclaim it as a testimony of my faith with all people who may hear it
The actual prayer that I requested was for pain only. At that time, I hurt so bad, that I groaned with every breath most of the time. The other part as far as probably not needing another surgery originated from the surgeon. Thinking that he knew more about it than I did, it sounded at the time that I had also got healing from that, so I believed that I was healed. As far as the prayer for pain, my pain left completely not long after the prayers, and is still gone. The pain left actually prior to the first surgery.
I hope this clearifies your question. If we, as believers, waited for something to happen before we praised God for it, then our faith would be dead.
Have a blessed evening and thanks for your questions.
