Good Day wvierra
The overarching, overriding concern is to score an accolade, one of the little E-medals. We know this is so because one hubber who is something of a, shall we say, prolific questioner has recently said as much. This hubber, whose identity I don't recall but you can probably find the question, formulated the question that went something like this: 'Since we have to ask one hundred questions to score an accolade, some of them are going to be stupid questions [the hubber actually stated some of the questions were going to be stupid], why do some hubbers take the trouble to leave hateful remarks instead of just passing the question by?
The point is (and you are not the first to notice this and most likely won't be the last) they want to score accolades and think it will raise their hub score. Again, we know this because one of them said so.
Some do ask quite a few questions of a specific technical nature, but I don't think you were referring to them (am I right?).
