Are religion and Science simply chasing their own tails?
Science and religion are text books of our discoveries and perceptions and not the answer to life's questions. It is interesting and relevant that after decades of scientific evolution, physics has come full circle to share a mystical view of reality previously dismissed for its lack of tangible evidence. We are integral to reality and to quantify it would be to understand the purpose of our very existence. Taking it that creation/annihilation is perpetual, non-distinguishable from each other and we are integral to this process how can we transcend this dimensional level?
Science is the answer to life's questions. I don't understand what you mean when you say "physics has come full circle to share a mystical view of reality....". Physics like any other scientific discipline is based on the observation of results of experiments, there's nothing mystical about it, someone comes up with a theory, and they conduct scientific experiments to see if they can prove the theory. Nothing is dismissed for it's lack of tangible evidence, things are either scientifically proven or they are not. For this question to really make any sense you need to put much more detail into the points that you make and explain what you mean by "transcending this dimensional level".
Both science and religion share the same goal, i.e. to understand and explain life’s mysteries. However, they differ greatly on the standards they apply when declaring a hypothesis is a fact. Most notably, science is willing to abandon what was previously accepted as fact when presented with logic and evidence that proves it false. On the other hand, religion is more willing to continue to embrace tenets previously accepted as facts in spite of logic and evidence that proves them false. Hence, the scientific community is willing acknowledge erroneous conclusions and the religious community rarely does.

So I borrowed this idea from Misha to start a new thread. For me, I can give one particular instance where I think science and religion/spirituality are complementary, as crossing each other's boundaries. When I think of energy; where Kirlian photography has proven the existence of the energy...

Faith is something to believe in not based on experiment but on experiences that cannot be explained in science. Science is the intrinsic, concrete, literal and obvious observation proven in various ways of explanation. Are you skeptical about this?

Do they create a perfect balance? If there was no science with religion, what would hold religion in check to make up whatever they wanted? The same with science, if there was no religion, who would keep science from making up whatever they wanted?
