Updated on January 4, 2018

Berkey PF2 Arsenic And Fluoride Filters

A lot of people wonder about the quality of their water, and rightfully so.

However, most people don't have to worry about going out into the wild and trying to purify water. When you do, there are a number of particulates and contaminants that must be removed from the water.

Big Berkey Fluoride Filter Systems can be used to get rid of all of the particulates that can harm you.

These particulates might include dirt, excess minerals, contaminants, and a wide variety of other small objects that can float along with water.

Read on as to why Big Berkey water filters are among the most trusted brand of water purification systems on the market.

The Problems With Fluoride

At one time, fluoride was touted as being one of the best elements to help with dental health.

However, few people knew about what else fluoride can do to the rest of your body.

Many scientific studies have stated that fluoride can cause people to develop arthritis and bone problems years after they start to ingest the chemical. It was not in the original water sources that most cities tapped. In fact, homes that still use a well are able to avoid fluoride, since it does not come out of the ground naturally when pumping well water.

It may be hard to hear that there are still cities that are putting fluoride into the water. However, there has not been any definitive "scientific" proof to cause cities to remove the fluoridation from their water. Most city officials simply look the other way and ignore how and why the chemical gets into their water supply.

Don't Believe Everything You Hear About Fluoride!

The common argument that fluoride helps people to get fewer cavities is false. Most countries, even those that did not use fluoride, were able to see a reduction in cavities due to better daily oral hygiene by citizens and more frequent dental checkups by dentists.

This happened across the globe, not just in locations where fluoride was used and had nothing to do with the introduction of fluoride at all.

The idea of using fluoride as an additive to public drinking supplies to aid in reducing in dental cavities is currently being investigated by a number of scientific organizations.

It has also been found that too much fluoride causes dental fluorosis when used on children in their formative years. This causes unsightly brown, yellow or white spots on children's teeth, which can be a bit traumatic for sensitive kids trying to fit in amongst their friends.

Fluoride filters can help you to avoid a number of health risks that thousands of people are suffering from in the world today.

Berkey Fluoride Filters For Good Health

It is surprising to see all of the nasty problems that can go along with the water that people drink on a regular basis. Whether you have already treated the water or you need to make sure that water from a stream, pond, lake, or river is safe, the Berkey Fluoride Filter Systems can do all of the work that you need to make sure that your water is safe for you and your family. The system is powerful enough to remove food coloring from water without losing the valuable minerals that your body needs to survive.

One of the most dangerous elements for your body to ingest is fluoride. This chemical which many people think helps to build up teeth is added to water in many major cities. However, the same chemical was used during World War II by the Germans against the Jews.

Some people state evidence that fluoride can cause arthritis and bone damage when consumed in large enough quantities. There is no definitive evidence of what exactly fluoride can do to damage your body, but there is little evidence to suggest that it will do anything good.

Berkey Fluoride systems can be used to filter any type of water that you wish. By attaching the Berkey fluoride water filters to the Black Berkey filters, you will be able to remove fluorides from your water supply. This way you will be able to live a healthier lifestyle and hopefully live longer with fewer problems.

How and When to Clean Berkey Fluoride Filters

People who own a Berkey may want to know how to clean the fluoride filters after they have been used for a period of time. First, do not boil the elements. Doing so will not remove the fluoride that it has collected.

It is actually recommended that instead of trying to clean Berkey® fluoride filter that you replace the filter under certain conditions. For example, users should replace the filter after it has been used for a two-year period or after 1000 gallons of water have been filtered through the system, whichever occurs first.

Berkey filter system users should replace the filter elements after approximately 300 uses. However, should they use the system once a day that means that the filters need to be replaced after ten months. Twice a day users need to replace the fluoride filters after about five months of use.

Make sure to check your Berkey filters often to ensure they are clean and ready for use.

I only use baking soda based toothpaste now and stopped drinking from the tap altogether, once I realized just how bad water treated with fluoride really was. Thank you for sharing this lens.

@anonymous: There are some decent fluoride free toothpastes out there, you just have to watch for the ones with artificial sugars and the like. There are also a lot of studies that question the effectiveness of topically applying fluoride via toothpaste. There is no doubt whatsoever though, that ingesting it is neither effective nor safe. Thanks for stopping by!

I've known about the dangers of fluoride for years. We live in the country and have our own well, but I also wonder about the fluoride in toothpaste, even though you spit that back out. Thanks for sharing; lots of good links.
