Vermont Farm in the Fall

Biodynamic farming is nothing new, the concept has been around since the 1920's (and much earlier before the presence of pesticides and chemicals in our farming methods). Where biodynamic agriculture differs from traditional farming is in the use of naturally growing (and living) materials found on the farm being used to treat the soil and crops. In short, the farm is self sustaining and does not rely on anything outside of the farm to survive. The manure from the animals is used to fertilize the plants. Herbs from other plants might provide additional nutrients. The farm is treated as if it were an individual organism. All of the components of the farm are equally important.

Think of cumulative benefit if everyone who could afford to switch to eco-friendly shampoo went ahead and did it. Nice lens!
