Village of the Arts artist community in Bradenton Florida

Updated on November 27, 2010

Village of the Arts - Bradenton FL 34206

The City of Bradenton Florida and the Downtown Development Authority have joined forces and formed the non-profit organization called the Artist's Guild of Manatee - to create an artist's colony called The Village of the Arts in an 18-block area south of downtown Bradenton, Florida.

The art community is made up of visual artists, along with musicians, literary and culinary artists, working out of their refurbished quaint 1920s era bungalows.

It is a way to revitalize the area.

This page is to share information about how artists can take advantage of the opportunities there, as well as relocation incentive programs.

What the City Offers Artists

The City of Bradenton is providing artists who purchase properties in certain areas of the district with up to $10,000 in matching grants to fund renovations.

Mixed use zoned properties are available, which allows an artist to have a studio on one floor and live on another (practically every artist's dream!)

Monthly Artwalks

The Village of the Arts hosts a festive Art Walk the first weekend of each month.

On the first Friday, Art Walk is from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm, and on the first Saturday, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.

The monthly art walks fill the streets of Bradenton Florida with art loving visitors, lots of special events, outdoor movie nights, and delicious gourmet food.

In the future, they plan to have cappuccino bars, antique shops, and a trolley connecting the Village of the Arts area to the Riverfront district. Bradenton is located just minutes from the beach.
