I have to admit, when some guy goes on a rampage killing a dozen people and injuring dozens more, why does he just stop and give himself up? He seemed pretty hell-bent on killing everyone as he was the "jokker", but simply lies down without any resistance at all? He has on full body armor, had his apartment booby-trapped, yet he goes quietly into police custody?   I apologize for the mixed-up comment. I sure got that all confused. You're smart for thinking about all the different posibilities in an insane situation. We all seem to have to do that a lot, anymore. There just is no telling if we're ever going to get the truth on this massacre. The whole thing just gets stranger and stranger.

  Seems like pretty flimsy evidence for a conspiracy. Until something compelling pops up, I generally go with Occam's Razor on these things - ie; the simplest answer is often the correct one. Why make more assumptions than you need to?

  Now, police are saying there is a possibly a second person who helped him. I don't believe in coincidence's, and people who would rather be spoon fed from the talking heads then actually doing some logical thinking for themselves, are a lost cause. If being a realist and a free thinker make me crazy, then guilty as charged and damn proud of it!!

  Actually can explain crazy - I think he saw the second man with the gun - as witnesses saw - knew that he was about to be terminated after having been trigger as the manchurian man and snapped out of his programming.
  
  What's really crazy is how the gov't planned this, used this man, for the political purpose of ending the gun ownership - which everybody is calling for. Strange - we don't know yet how he got the guns, bombs, tactical equipment worth 20 grand all by himself as a unemployed student.
  
  Crazy is thinking this guy was a lone nut.
  Crazy is thinking that taking guns from all Americans will stop mass murders.
  Crazy is being blind to all the past nasty things that happened and thinking we live in a utopian eden of morality by those who have control over vast resources.

  This is sort of how I feel. People are always labeled as crazy because people think with their emotions too much and this often clouds their judgement. While it is very sad many lose their lives. We can not just jump to conclusions and says James Holmes was insane.
  
  Hitler, for example, was a very smart man -- even though he used his intelligence to strike harm upon others.
  
  James Holmes may have had some unconventional motive that is not yet apparent or this has something to do with the government.
  
  While it's hard to say, I think people should keep an open mind to the possibility that this could have been done so more stricter gun enforcement laws would be enacted.
  
  Most people look at things in a black and white kind of way. For example, Holmes will either be seen as insane or people will think this is a government conspiracy (which the later is possible).
  
  There are many factors to consider. This appears to be an isolated incident according to investigators, but it's still possible he could have been linked to something more, but I am doubtful to that, but will still put it into perspective.

  Yes I agree there is a lot more to this story. It is very bizarre. Usually the gunman shots himself too. It was very strange that his apartment was booby trapped and the police knew about it -- I am curious how did they know the place was booby-wired without entering? No details are provided on that front that I know of.

  I think this individual was severely brainwashed. I don't know exactly who is behind it, weather it be the FBI, CIA, or some foreign duplicate, but it is clear to me that the event was staged and will be used to further the demise of America's sovereignty and strengthen globalist authority.   So, this definitely means that George Bush planned 9/11. He was the sitting president when it happened. Yes, sitting presidents control everything that happen under their watch and do everything for political gain. And, everything that benefits them politically was their doing. Don't tell me little Georgie didn't gain politically from 9/11.

  Bush didn't do a thing, Cheney in a 1990's report said that a "Pearl Harbor event' would have to happen to further political goals. Bush 43 probably doesn't even have sphincter control let all control the United States for 8 years.

  One, why would the FBI post a terrorist warning specifically about attacks on movie theaters, then take it down as quick as it went up? I think it could have been put up by a type of whistle-blower inside the FBI who wanted that information to get out on the web, the best place to make someting go viral. It's a guess of mine, that is all.
  
  Second, if said information did make it's way into the mainstream, maybe some people at that theater might have had a gun (it is an open carry state) and things MIGHT have gone diferently.
  
  We need to keep in mind that this man was unemployed, yet had enough money to do all this: from CBS:
  
  “He said pictures from inside the apartment are fairly disturbing and the devices look to be sophisticated, adding the booby-traps were ‘something I’ve never seen.’ One rifle, two handguns, a knife, a bullet proof vest, a ballistic helmet, a gas device, a gas mask, military SWAT clothing and unidentified explosives were also found in Holmes’ car, a law enforcement source told CBS News. Oates said Holmes wore a gas mask, a ballistic helmet and vest as well as leg, groin and throat protectors during the shooting.” He also had 6,000 rounds of ammo.
  
  Like I said before, none of this checks out. If you’re a killer bent on causing mayhem, why tell the police about your surprise bomb waiting for them back at your apartment? Why just give up after unloading on innocent people, but then calmly surrender to police without resistance. This is not consistent with the idea of “killing everyone.”

Conspiracy theorists by profession tend to make everything into a conspiracy. The cause I always look for: was he on anti-psychotic drugs.

  And perhaps the truth is somewhere between two extremes.
  
  Like 9/11. We don't know who did it, but Al Qaeda (a CIA op) certainly wasn't the only one involved, if at all. The 3 WTC buildings came down by controlled demolition and that takes weeks or months to prepare. And with two Bush family members running the security company, either they knew or they were lousy at their jobs.
  
  There were FBI agents who filed suit against the government for ignoring their evidence prior to 9/11. The attorney who handled Clinton's impeachment took on some of those agents. I don't know what became of their cases, but it's either gross incompetence, or complicity and coverup. With Dick Cheney ordering military officers to stand down when a plane was spotted heading right for the Pentagon, you have to wonder. Transportation Secretary Mineta was bewildered by this. I don't blame him.

  Not a single one of the drugs mentioned in this post is an anti-psychotic. They are ALL (with the exception of Ritalin) anti-depressants, which are STRONGLY NOT recommended for teenagers. Perhaps these folks were on these drugs because there was something seriously wrong with each of them, and it just happens that they were out of control with or without psychotropic drugs.

  Well, @Mighty Mom, what would you do if many of those crackpot conspiracy theorists are right? Wouldn't you be a bit miffed that someone was trashing our precious Constitution and Bill of Rights? Would you want your children to live in a world where America looks more like Hitler's Germany or Stalin's Russia? Living outside of the United States for 5 years, the Corporate Party Media kool-aid has worn off. I believed in the Bush conspiracy theory for nearly a decade. No more.
  
  America is based upon its Constitution in more than merely a legal sense. The whole idea of America is bound up in liberty and in the last several decades, liberty has slowly been eroded. You've got to wonder if it's merely legislative incompetence or slow tyranny.

  So, who do we believe: Bush and his conspiracy theory?
  
  Giuliani committed a felony by cleaning up the crime scene before an investigation could be thoroughly done. Bush dragged his feet so that an official investigation didn't start for more than 400 days! Then, the chairman of the 9/11 commission said that it was set up to fail, because it was under-funded, and ignored. Cooperation by the White House was minimal. Bush had also stopped other groups from performing their own investigations. And initially, he gave the 9/11 commission $600k. Clinton's sexual exploits cost tax payers something like $40 million! Let's say Bush was not involved in committing treason and mass murder. This all looks highly suspicious. Could he really have been that much of a bozo, and if so, does that translate to the rest of the government? So many dropped balls on 9/11, that by itself is a red flag. But then those responsible were promoted, not canned! Hmmm!

Are you serious? The FBI would never have anyone do a random shooting. The shooter was an intelligent human being without any remorse for anyone. What he did was heinous and insane. I would say he gave himself up because something snapped in his mind and he realized it was the best thing to do. Oddly some of the shooters will murder innocent people and never turn the guns on themselves.

There is a mother laying in the hospital right now, paralyzed and in critical condition that does not even know her 6-year old daughter died in that shooting. The man was sick and insane; but I do not believe the FBI, CIA or any other governmental agency had anything to do with the shooting.

My heart and prayers to all of those families who have lost family members or are suffering at this time. Look what our world is coming to? So sick.

  Well then I guess you also believe that Oswald was a lone shooter and the CIA didn't kill the president of the United States neither! Operation Zipper or Mockingbird never happened - there was no MKULTRA, Paperclip, MKNAOMI and everything is happily moral and legal today.

  AEvans, I think most people would agree with you. Witnesses reported that he inexplicably ignored some people standing within 5 feet of him, that he looked straight at them and didn't shoot them, while others were shot without mercy.

Well, the shooter had a degree from the University of California system and in graduate school program at University of Colorado. Both are public as opposed to private universities.

So one conspiracy might be that this is the work of some anti higher education group.

I'm dead serious.
My theory makes as much -- or more -- sense as anything Alex Jones has ever or will ever say.

Personally, I feel that this man had a mental break. We don't know what was going on inside of him. I think this is a tragic event but not a conspiracy. The shooter was just someone with a mental illness. Maybe, the true question should be is why isn't there more mental health options available. I pray for the victims, and yes the shooter and his family. As there is much more below the surface that we, as the public, don't know. This was a true tragedy.

I worked at a mental health facility for severely emotionally disturbed adolescents for 10 years. Many of the most severe cases would assault peers or staff or both. When "mental heath technicians" came in to deal with the situation (physical management and clinical restraints) they would simply lay down on their face and comply. The whole ordeal was calculated. By submitting before staff could put hands on, they remained in control of the situation. There was satisfaction in manipulating the situation. Staff were compelled to operate within the parameters of the program and procedures. There were consequences for their behavior, but they knew that in advance . . . they had power.

Sometimes the power to frustrate people and evoke emotion was enough to give them a rush of demonic delight. They loved to push the limits with their verbal nonsense. It was much like the way forum trolls behave around here. Think eagle heads and American flags.

Well, this is quite a discussion. I am familiar with sites that rant and rave about how corrupt the government is, further a possibility that Obama is just hired and trained speaker to a much higher degree if you will. If the government did do this, that is pretty sick. Sick enough to pass the vote. How about the bigger picture... to dummy down citizens, this spiral, crazy world situations...all so very very brutally and seared, displayed for everyone... really, this is of question. I really think events are unfolding faster than most people understand. It is wrong, if the this true. Then again so is corporate greed, which is truly evident in this nation.   Sorry if you we were referring to me. I really meant to say that I never would have considered this recent horrific event tied in with politics. Its just something to ponder. I have also been "informing" myself, about the events that unfold towards a one world government. One of those contributors is cooperate greed, for example: Walmart. Walmart is suspected to be the next FEMA station. Not that that has anything to do directly with the recent event or the FBI, just that it seems part of the prophetic vision that the "conspiracy" rulers plans towards one world government, that would be eventually used to dummy down citizens into eliminating a good part of the population. I just might believe all the possibilities that seem so corrupt. When I "informed" myself about cooperate greed, it seemed to make sense. Sort of like a pyramid. Im not sure I explain this so well, more than Im commenting that its a possibility this shooting was involved by the FBI. Which in effect trickles down to a corrupt government and so on.

I have an alternative premise that has been percolating as I've researched gun control and the public's support (or lack thereof).
I suspect that if someone is behind James Holmes' actions, it's the NRA or other group that wants GUNS to be put center stage in the POTUS election.
Neither Obama nor any other politician wants to talk about gun control.
Polls say Americans simply don't want to discuss it now.

But a horrendous massacre like this FORCES THE ISSUE into the spotlight.
Obama HAS to take a stand. He simply can't turn away from it. And of course his base is going to demand tighter controls.

Yet Romney, who as it happens (shock, shock, schock,) enacted tight gun controls in MA when governor, can appease his pro-gun base and say nothing needs to be done.

It's a little too pat.

I am not usually one for conspiracy theories, but this fits as well (or better) than any other.

I just don't trust what the media puts out (mockingbird) because we've all been lied to so many times. And what really gets my goat is an editorial in the Tucson newspaper that people like me saying "hey wait a minutes" are ridiculed as 'nuts' and the editorial even said the following are just conspiracy theories by nuts like myself:

  The grieving families at this time would not expose themselves to threads such as these. It's not as if we are talking in the living room of the survivors. This is out way of grieving because we are all still in the anger stage and will not be in the acceptance stage for quite some time.

  It took 2 years after 911 for me. By that time all the debris was hauled away to China which stuck me as odd because every plane crash is meticulously laid out somewhere for year & years.
  
  I think folks are becoming more and more inured due to mass communication and are able to snap out of shock quicker to talk about it while the corpses are still warm. Homicide investigators do this everyday - are they wrong by doing their job?

James Holmes used an AR-15. Commonly referred to as an 'assault' rifle, 'automatic' rifle, or some other term like that. No discussion about other, non AR-15 platform semi-automatic rifles ever happens though, most people just know about those 'AR-15's.

Obama mentions that AK-47s don't belong on our streets, but doesn't mention the AR-15.

  The point is, people, including politicians, use the terms AR15, AK47, assault rifle, and automatic rife incorrectly.
  
  People don't go out and buy true AR15s and AK47s, they buy variants built off of the platform that don't have selective fire. There is a huge difference between a true AK47 and a WASR 10. We have these 'gun debates' without ever clarifying exactly what we are talking about.

  Or, a free man protecting himself. I use mine to get food on a regular basis. I have never shot at a man, yet, but an 82 year old woman saved her own life with a 380 a few months back. I like a 380. It is a good back up pistol so you don't have to reload your 45.

  I wonder why everyone in the world is worried about guns in the US. What about gun control in the middle east, how about that? Talk about crazy murdering. It is a way of life. Give them a chill pill why don't you? When the government starts taking guns away here, I will know that it isn't the American government, and I will know what to do.

  Why anyone wants to arm a population where so many people obviously feel powerless, marginal and unrepresented in Government, is a mystery. Especially when the first fantasy the powerless reach for involves arms and destruction. And only a minority ever think democracy might work for them.

  It isn't a trivial detail if someone says 'we should ban automatic rifles', and immediately starts on legislation to ban semi-automatic rifles. One involves rifles which are already heaviliy regulated, and one is less so.

  The point is that your response is trivial detail to everyone except gun nuts. I say gun nuts because that is how you are all viewed, outside of your reality bubble, by most of the world. I realise that you cannot imagine this, but most of the civilised world does not walk around with a gun in its pocket and rifles in the boot of its cars. I put this down to maturity and self confidence and the courage to face danger like any other member of society whether very old, very young, disabled or average.
  
  So sorry guys, you are a bunch of cowards who think hiding behjind a bang stick makes you a man, when in fact it does precisely the opposite.

  It's true. Most populations are jammed up in cities along waterways. Apparently, you have never driven 4 hours straight on a 'highway' that is dirt not seeing a single car, stock up on emergency items and food for months because the nearest damn store is 65 miles away. It's a little different feeling knowing that there is no 911 to rescue you as in a city or township.
  
  BTW, 'stocking up on food' for more than 4 days is considered by the US as one of the profile hits for a terrorist. Shows what kind of citified mindset there is in people who live so detached from nature.
  
  I saw what I thought was the biggest dog in my life hiking - it was a black bear, I just walked away but it sure would of been nice to shoot a bullet up in the air. I would never shoot at the bear - even with a camera - - I just wanted to walk out unharmed.

  Then I must be on a terrorist watch list because we only shop every other week (after payday). Sorry, I find that hard to believe. Also, I live in the eastern US, I don't think there's anywhere you drive in this half of the country for four hours without passing someone, unless you're driving 2 mph. Four hours at 60 mph would be 240 miles. That's from one corner of Ohio (where I live) to the other.
  
  I hike too, and I've seen bears. Once they know you're there, they usually take off. You can buy bear bells, or some marbles or stones in a can hung from your pack makes enough noise to scare them off, but that's usually only a problem in thick brush where you can't see far in front of you. Grizzlies are another matter.

No, the FBI didn't stage this.

This was just one more nutcase that went over the edge and now the liberal groups and politicians are going to use it capitalize on their anti-gun agenda. They do this every time someone with a screw loose shots somebody. They don't giving a damn about the victims, just their agenda.
