So, Ted Cruz is a naturalized citizen and Barrack is not?

   The Constitution requires that an eligible candidate for president must be a naturalized citizen. That means born in the U.S. or subject jurisdiction, or not born on AMERICAN soil but either parent is an American citizen. Otherwise how do the children of diplomats or our members of the military have children born overseas, yet they are considered naturalized citizens for the purpose of being eligible to be the Chief Executive.
   
   Cruz was born in Canada of a mother who was an American citizen and a Cuban father. Yet, Obama was born in the state of Hawaii of a mother who was an American citizen and a Kenyan father. Everbody is ready to give the rightwinger Cruz a free pass, while they tormented Obama over his origin when it is obvious that there has to be less question about Obama's eligibility ( born in an American state and so documented) than Cruz.
   
   Do I have to guess why there is a difference? Things like this always encouraged me to roast the rightwingers over the coals for its hypocrisy

         Do you think that it was just Trump, you may have been born yesterday, but I wasn't. This stuff was standard right wing fodder for much of the president's first term. But again the rightwingers wants you to forget so that they can slip the ooze of Cruz past everyone.

                  Perhaps it wasn't sought out and beaten like a moutain-dewed-up-three-year-old's drum by the Democrat praetorian guard in the media, who found every possible mindless and meaningless loon to put in print or on camera for years despite no one truly credible discussing Obama's citizenship, but it required ajudication in a federal court.

                     Should Ted Cruz become our president he will be the first U.S. President born since the ratification of our Constitution "In the Year of Our Lord" 1787 who openly admits he was born in another country to a father who was a foreigner.  Talk about audacity Cruz hasn't even attempted to lie about his birthplace and citizenship issues.  Perhaps Donald Trump can prompt HIM to produce a forged long-form Birth Certificate?
                     FYI - the only public record of Obama's education shows him as an Indonesian-Moslem named Barry Soetoro

         I think that because his mother was an American citizen, he will get a free pass. It is just that Obama was subjected to so much of this birther nonsense when everybody knows he was born in Hawaii. But hawaii is more exotic and ethnic and perhaps Canada, particularely, Alberta, does not bring that to mind. But Obama had a stronger case as a naturalized citizen over the Canadian born Cruz, let us see how it plays out. Progressives have more evolved sensibilities, Cruz is an easy target, we don't need this.

            Most of the hoopla over Obama's birther controversy was after his election. The conservatives with a lot of help from the media wanted to hobble the President with nonsense so to make him less effective. McConnell said from the very beginning that his purpose was to have him a one term and done and sooner if possible. I don't think Cruz has a snowballs chance in He!!. But I see him as the bird dog and litmus test the conservatives are using to see what the climate is for their bid at the White House.
