   No reprieve for you this time, Trump fans. Is he merely mocking the residents of Puerto Rico? Is it a publicity stunt? If it is, it is in poor taste.
   
   He needs to spend more time and resources with viable Presidential response to this crisis.
   
   Cmon folks, why do anything so irrationally calloused and stupid? There is something wrong with this guy and instead of blaming the press coverage, he needs to visit a psychiatrist's couch. As usual, he asked for it.

                        Good enough - I don't have time for people that make crazy claims but then can't back them up, either.  Saw a claim today that a majority of Muslims approve of homosexuality (got the same response, too - a request for proof) - this isn't much different.

   He looks like he’s tossing t-shirts to kids at a hockey game. Such a weird dude. It’s been painfully obvious for a while now that he struggles with appropriate interactions so it’s not at all surprising. He actually reminds me a lot of my grandpa shortly before he died, I was constantly apologizing to people for his borderline offensive comments and flippant behaviour in serious situations. Except he wasn’t the president, so you know, on a much smaller scale...

      Exactly.  I don't blame Trump, I blame the spin doctors who thought that would be an appropriate publicitiy stunt.  How much difference will one roll of paper towel make?   He should've been supervising the distribution of palletloads of something useful.
      
      But I do blame Trump for his speeches.  How disgraceful, to compare Puerto Rica's hurricane to Katrina and imply that they got off lightly.   And to tell them that they've stuffed up his budget.   And I didn't read about those, I saw the video footage, and I'm appalled at his heartlessness.  I know some have tried to say he was being humorous, but both statements were in really, really bad taste.

         I wanted to point out that the real dummy was whichever staffer put those paper towels out there for him to throw. Surely reasonable folks aren't going to think Pres. Trump orchestrated that effort. Can you imagine him saying to his staffers - "Hey, put some paper towels out there for me to throw."
         
         But, but, but, wait... please notice that none of that thought applies to the tone-deafness of him actually throwing the paper towels. An experienced politician would have known better.

            Totally agree. Sometimes, it really does seem like he has people close to him who are trying to set him up for backlash like this; or they are just plain inexperienced, themselves. If Trump wasn't so damn shallow to begin with, he could see how silly stuff like this makes him look. He probably shouldn't have surrounded himself with so many friends & family; and concentrated more on experience - since he didn't have much. It would have been a good idea.

If Trump does not have the judgement to make a simple discernment in basic common sense, then may heaven help us survive the remainder of his term. If I were Trump, I would begin with a clean sweep of his current entourage.

         Marisa, that is not the task of top management, whether government or private industry.  Trump's job is to provide money and manpower, not to be on the docks playing foreman of the work crew.  It isn't even his job to determine how many bottles of water or gallons of gas are shipped, no matter how much he's blamed for not shipping the "right" materials.

               It never ceases to amaze me the hoops we need to scramble to jump to complain about Trump.  Although I agree with PP's sentiment concerning our 'foot in mouth' commander in chief the left is doing a grand job of obfuscating their legitimate opposition to this man by complaining about the silliest and most mundane things. Complaining that  the man 'chucked paper towels' during the distribution of needed supplies to hurricane victims is about as nonsensical as the explanation why a librarian was justified in being offended by a gift of books from Melania Trump.
               
               How does anyone honestly expect an adult to be offended by a guy 'chucking paper towels' to a crowd of people who need the paper towels?

All he is doing is damaging the institutions put in place to protect our form of government.                                     Perhaps you're right.  But the other choice was a woman that would absolutely solidify the existing system.  Another J Edgar, IMO, that would increase personal political power for her and her cronies as her top priority.  That would use that power, just as Hoover did, to corrupt the institution further and use that corruption against any citizen not actively supporting her. 
                                    
                                    Trump, on the other hand, will never be able to gain that kind of political power.  He has far too many enemies in Congress and makes more every day.  Trump may or may not damage the system, but Clinton would build it into a personal fiefdom similar to Trumps businesses, "owning" every person on the Hill, just as Trump "owns" his business subordinates.
                                    
                                    All opinion, of course, but don't we cast votes based on opinions of what the future will become?

I know, LtoL would say the Clinton mafia protected d her or some such nonsense. Your man Trump promised a new investigation that would "lock her up." He has Sessions in place. Why haven't they done it? It would be great red meat for Trump's base.  They haven't done it because after so many investigations, they found nothing that was worth prosecuting. "Lock her up" was just another tactic of of his con job. He never meant it.

                                       Yes, Hillary was part of the establishment as much as any white male politician before her (and those who still inhabit Capital Hill, is anyone still SCARED?!) - except her scandals were TAME compared to just about every potus before her (and certainly much more tame than Trump's) - with the possible exception of Obama who we voted into office for the exact same reasons as Trump: because he didn't have much experience; and was supposed to bring CHANGE - by developing bipartisan policies, which he TRIED to do.
                                       
                                       But yeah, didn't work because of our infighting, accusatory, disappointing & frustrating politicians.
                                       
                                       Hillary would have carried on that 'middle of the road' stance - you're absolutely right. It has been very frustrating for those of us who supported her for so damn long - to know that NOW is the time white men decided that 'her kind' of politician is no longer acceptible. This political crap has been going on for decades; but Hillary was considered to be the evil cream of the crop - thanks to decades of fake news, not just a few years of it.
                                       
                                       The problem most of us have is that you DIDN'T go out and find yourself someone the people could respect (and more importantly, someone who actually respects people beyond his precious base). Ideally, it should have been politicians who 'paid' for Trump's divisive presence - not 'we the people'.
                                       
                                       What are you going to do to keep Trump's destructive momentum going after he is gone? Who are you going to bring in next - Ted Nugent? Kid Rock? Bret Michaels?
                                       
                                       Perhaps we could go through the entire 80's cultural database (which includes Trump) - and put those who haven't managed to die yet (I would have happily voted for Tom Petty, ha!); and whose brains have been the most tampered with (gotta make sure that they have locker room banter effectively offensive & insulting down pat) in there. Those three I just listed would also fit Trump's bill. Neat!

                                                I agree with you that a significant segment of Democrats are also racist and misogynistic. Let's not forget, though, that Hillary won the popular vote by a significant margin. She also beat an old white dude in the primaries. That said, a large part of the reason she has been so harshly judged is because she is a strong, successful woman competing in a field full of men, many of whom operate on the same dubiously competitive level as Hillary but are judged less harshly for it.
                                                
                                                I do think Bernie would have beaten con man Don, partly because he would have siphoned off some of those white male voters, but also because he had less baggage than Hillary.

                                          Well, you will have your opinion on her transgressions (they weren't that bad) and I will have mine (her massive political power covered them up or just made them "go away").  The whole "server" thing, for instance, was a jail sentence waiting to happen (and did, to those without her political power), but it has quietly vanished into the night.  She only made one major political error (incompetence in the Benghazi affair), and that's more important than actual criminal activity when it comes to politics.  Witness Tim Murphy who has done nothing illegal, but it cost him his career.

                                 Wall Street and Washington DC are one and the same.  People believe it is a wealth system but in reality it is a debt system, and the deeper they go in debt, the more debt they need to pumped into the system or it will crash.  But, it will crash and people need to think about the future when ATM's, credit cards and EBT's don't work anymore.  Think of the mayhem, it would get very rough for months, maybe years.
                                 
                                 Just had to get that off my chest.

                                 ADDED:  A new monetary system /  new government needs to be brought in.  "Out with the old and in with the new."  (added)  Not sure of any other way of draining the corrupt system / swamp that wants to have all the power and control.  One man, one man is taking them on.

                           And here you are complaining that Hillary voters should take responsibility for the dumbass president. All you have to do is admit he was your choice and leave it at that, but you always try to shift responsibility to those who didn't even vote for him. His current behavior is just a continuation of the character he has always displayed. That is why it is not surprising that Trump voters are rarely offended by anything he does.    It is truly more and more difficult to 'stand by your vote' for 'Ol Bone Spurs.
   
   Is it that certain voters will never admit that they could possibly have made a mistake? Dealing with people who will never admit they are wrong  .. and then blame others! Sounds a lot like Donnie. So perhaps the Drumpf voters saw a bit of themselves in General Incompetence?
