   Some people say that religion, God, morals, dont belong in the government. Or that morality is relative and that we all sort of "define our own" morality.
   
   Why do the same people support Obama in the governments "Moral obligation..." to over haul the health inssurance industry? He calls it "a core ethical and moral obligation"

   By agreeing with the some form of the first sentence dont they become hypocrites when they support the healthcare proposal? What do other hubbers see in this?

   If what you say is true, why are the religious people against health care? Shouldn't they be for it.

   Some in the US that are against universal health care are saying how bad the health care system is in Canada.  But in reality the vast majority of Canadians would not want to give up our health care system.  The complaints by those in the US that are against universal health care is mostly that it will support tax payer funded abortions.  But in Canada we had our universal health care system before abortion was legalized here.  This debate about tax payer funded abortions in the US just may start the same debate in Canada.
   
   On the other hand I believe it is a moral obligation of governments to supply a universal health care system.  I have often read that 40 million people in the US can not afford health insurance.  Just recently I have read that number is now 73 million people in the US that can not afford health insurance.
   
   I have no doubt that a universal health care system in the US would decrease the cost of health care in both the US and Canada.  I say it would also reduce the cost of health care in Canada because for quite a while Canadian health care workers have been bribed by US firms to move south, thus provincial governments, aka the Canadian tax payer have had to pay doctors, nurses and other health care workers more to keep them here.
   
   Here's another scenario if a universal health care system is passed in the US.  The possibility that it may even decrease the amount of abortions in the US.  Without a universal health care system or health insurance young women and couples are faced with a large expense just to bring a child into this world, let alone the ongoing health care for a child, on top of the cost of bringing up a child.
   
   So what do you think?  Do you think that there may be a possibility that a universal health care system in the US may even decrease the amount of abortions in the US?

      In the National Health Service, contraceptive advice and contraception is always free at the point of delivery, no prescription charge. That's entirely positive, in my view. It must help reduce unwanted pregnancies to some extent.

   I have to agree with Make Money about the abortion thing.  Seriously, when you think about it, there must be a real fear of having a baby if you can't afford the hospital bill that goes with it, so wouldn't you be more inclined to abort than to go through with it?  I believe there is a little research that is needed here.
