   How does a jury convict a person of vehicular homicide while jaywalking?
   
   A mother in the state of Georgia attempting to cross the street not at an intersection was convicted of this crime. However, the  person who hit the child had had several other incident that day, in the same area. The person was drunk, medicated and blind in one eye.

   I can only imagine that the driver attempting to avoid hitting the jay walker, hit another pedestrian.  Due to the fact that the jay walker should not have been at that position in the street in the first place, that person is responsible for the deadly evasive action of the driver.

   It is utterly ridiculous that a person would go to jail for jaywalking. To even get convicted on a baseless law is showing how ignorant the rest of society is becoming. The driver of the car, was apparently not paying close enough attention to driving their car. Otherwise, no problem would have occurred in the first place.
   
   It is a full blown atrocity, that any individual can get convicted and sent to jail for jaywalking. So much for freedoms or even rights for that matter.
