   Anybody who ignores history is foolish, how far do you agree?
   
   Personally, I do feel history holds great importance, ignoring it can be disastrous for a nation. How far, do you people agree to it?

   I absolutely agree with you. History of one's Country is very important to learn. Because more than not, History will repeat itself.

   I agree.  I was taught this in school, we need to learn from our mistakes.  We learned how other countries didn't listen to history and fell apart.
   
   Unfortunately, in the US, we aren't listening to history just like all the other fallen countries. 
   
   We ignore history, and past mistakes, and redo them.  Soon we will fall as well.

   How can you know where you're going if you don't know where you've been?" No truer words were ever spoken. When we choose to ignore our past we will be doomed to repeat all our mistakes over and over. But a word to the wise, make sure the history you're learning is what actually happened. All too often history is written by the winner and is propagandized to that point of view. Remember, there are always two (or more) sides to every story. So be critical of the history you learn, scrutinize it from all sides, take nothing for granted, and keep a large grain of salt handy. In this way our history comes alive for us and we do learn from past mistakes.

   I definitely agree.  We can learn from the past.  Both the good and the ugly.  I would hope as a country we would not make the same mistakes as our ancestors.

   People can learn from their own mistakes and they can learn from the mistakes of others.  I agree that anybody who ignores history is foolish.  It is better to learn from the past then to repeat it.  Sometimes the mistake is too big to recover from.  So it is much better to avoid making it.  With all the time that has past and all the people a lot of the big mistakes have already been made.  It would be foolish not to use knowledge of the past to make better decisions.
