Why do people tell you that you are overreacting if they can't feel how you are feeling?
Perhaps they have an objective view of the situation and can see that it is not as bad as you are making it out to be. Or, it could be someone being patronizing or condescending - depends on the context. If you are arguing with a spouse and they dismiss you as "overreacting" - that is mean spirited and a way to avoid accountability.
If you see a spider and start to hyperventilate and it's non-poisonous (ask me how I know lol) and someone says "calm down, you're overreacting it's a harmless creature" that is totally different.
People do overreact to things and if we are respectful about how we let them know they are, perhaps it can spare them some anxiety and pain?
I think It can really hurt someone by belittling the way the they feel
It can be a lack of empathy. Many people really do not know nor care how the other people feels about an occurrence and/or a situation unless it happens to them. They strongly contend that the other person is exaggerating his/her feelings when they really do not how some occurrences and/or situations affect others. Even though they vehemently purport that the other person's reaction and/or response to the occurrence and/or situation at hand is hyperbolic, to the latter, his/her response can be quite normal. Each person reacts and/or responds to a particular occurrence and/or situation and/or occurrence quite differently. While few people can ignore the occurrence and/or situation; some have a more extreme, even a totally subjective and/or visceral reaction; and others react calmly, even objectively.
your welcome it was a really good explanation
When some one tells me that I am overreacting, they are right, and that is because I am always "wired."
sometimes it could be justified but other times...I think it just not important to them and it is a selfish way to be

Why the people tell a lie in spite of knowing it well that it is an evil.We often teach the others not to tell a lie but in routine course of life, we also tell. Some times we feel that we are doing wrong but we can not remove this evil because it is completely dissolved in our practice.
