Why War, Why don't individuals use their energy on Fighting for PEACE instead.
Why the constant fighting over useless wares of materialistic avenues of political agendas that is just trying to make matters worst?
Do you honestly think people in their sane minds want to fight wars? All through history, wars has been a part of the human condition.
Wars are fought for the survival of a group. When the group succeeds, they flourish, when they fail, they are marginalized or go extinct.
Your question shows you fail to understand human nature. There have always been pacifists. The only reason they exists is because of good people fighting to defend them.
We all want PEACE don't we? In this Memorial weekend, let us remember and honor those who have fought and died so that we can live.
Well Jack not sain INSANE fighting over and over in a circle of hatred and for what ? To void individuals of family members breaking up families? War can be avoided only if leaders will act civilized stop being so greedy to want what each other has
Isn't this wishful thinking? Are you proposing an utopia society? how would you bring that about? or just pie in the sky... The reality is that life is hard and it is unfair and there is evil in the world. We can wish for all kinds of things...
Jack Lee it's not wishful thinking no genies in bottles are around, it's The Hope of Better Days and Things to come ,and life is only as hard as you make it or think it to be Will Power is there to help individuals put themselves in better positions.
Really, was it will power that stopped Hitler and the holocaust, was it will power that stopped Japanese invasion of Manchuria and China during WWII? Was it will power that stopped the Soviet Union during the cold war? It took an army ready to fight.
Jack Lee we are in the present tense but as you asked the question ,It was greed hatred anger ignorance and must arrogance displayed from ignorant individuals.
It come down to what is your world view? Do you believe there is evil in this world? if yes, we do what we have to to defend our selves. If not, we are just a bunch of people miss understood and a group hug will solve all problems.
Jackie Lee I not only know there is evil I can also see it and it needs to be radicated and only mankind can do it.
Jack
The US has not won a war since 1898. We have won military battles, and we have flat out lost wars, but we deferred to future wars when ending many of the wars since 1898.
brad, I'm not sure I agree with your assertion. The only war America lost in its history is Vietnam and its not because we couldn't win militarily. We lost because the American people lost faith in the Johnson administration...
Jack Lee
I guess you would have to read my hub. Military Battles won are not the same as winning a war. A war is only won when it resolves, rather than defers the issues causing the war. We lost Vietnam because of Russia and China
Interesting take, I will check out your hub. I don't agree with that specific definition. We won WWII decidedly and destroyed the Nazi regime of Hitler and Musolini and the Japanese Imperial Empire.
Jack Lee if you really get conscious to understand you will see the error of wheel ways as it's always war war and What! No peace so something is definitely wrong if all these years they are fighting in war and yet no method of peace has been applied
I'm not sure I understand your comment or question. Please explain...
You are right why we have to fight though we can able to solve problems by peace but one thing war is happening between two parties so even one party is ready to solve the problem in peace , the opposite party has to accept it right. If someone wants to kill us with knife means whether we will convince them by speech? no its impossible ,we have to guard ourselves by fighting against them.
Though we know that people will lose their lives in war still we are fighting the reason is to protect ourselves. If both parties ready to talk in peace only we can avoid war.
Since this question a raise I want to tell one more thing so many warriors are going to army though they know that their lives are not guarantee but we people are living comfortably here because of those brave soldiers fighting for us in borders and still we are all blaming our daily life.
Let us salute our soldiers.
I understand what you are saying but at the end of the day what have they accomplish but more death and individuals voided of families.
Yes you are right so many death but directly they won't start war. initially they will have conversation to deal things peacefully. Last hope only they will start war.
This is certainly the weekend to remember the people that protect us.
Try a war on poverty by bringing cheap energy, clean drinking water, vitamins and medicine to the developing world. Many people's wars and fighting is driven by the struggle for daily necessities.

What would you say to a pair of teens you caught fighting over the right to tag your property?I had gone to our other home to inspect the work of a tree removal service when I found two boys fighting with each other in front of my garage. After calling the police, I went into the house to make a...

How can two countries stop war when they are both fighting for peace?

I want to know the Hubpages communities opinion on war. And maybe this could be the start of a debate that can answer a lot of questions the government refuses to ask or answer.

I saw this comment on another thread and felt that it was to big a question to respond to there. I read it as a bit of a flippant comment in my mind (as you do when reading stuff online) and felt a strong reaction, that no war is a good war because war is built on destruction the worst of which is...
