How incompetent is the FBI to recently uncover 14900 emails that they already had for years?
First the FBI wanted a backdoor on everybody iphones - then later was able to hack phone via Israel company. Now this. So how many other stuff do they have in their possession that they are too stupid to figure out. I wonder how many FBI investigations are in limbo in this country because the FBI seems to no longer be the premier elite untouchables that they once were.
It's a myth about the FBI. They were never that sophisticated. I know someone who worked at the FBI. They were using paper notes instead of electronic email in the 1990s, and 2000s. They are so far behind it is scary... In this latest email with the Clinton's, they don't really want to get to the bottom of it. Something higher up at the DOJ is preventing this investigation from going forward. It is the Obama Legacy...
The fastest way to derail and cause impotence in an investigation is to limit the tools available to the investigators. No comment of policy is needed. Just do not prioritize or fund a project and it will die a painful death.
Whoever that DOJ lady is, and Cuomo did real good here in the area of assuring no findings. Yet doing it with a wink and a nod.
I call bull on incompetence.

They and the rest of the US gov failed us big time on 911. To this day, do we know what was the intended 4th target. We didn't have a single defensive act on 911. Andrews Air Force Base couldn't even protect the Capital.
We can we justify the Patriot Act, and the trillions spent on the NSA if they couldn't get into an iPhone, but an Israel co could do it. They have been hoovering data for decades, but these HRC emails tell us either they don't know what to do with the Data, or they are political animals under the control of the Alpha dogs.
You are right, they had 4 years to do something with these emails, and even now we are still getting info on them as if they couldn't find them originally.
If the NSA didn't capture them when they were original, then I say we hire the Israelis. Another unproven government agency is Homeland Security.
Instead of making the CIA work with the FBI and domestic agencies, they put another layer above them. The more layers the more that can be lost. Are you impressed by Homeland Security?
I also wonder why the FBI is the lead agency, should National Security come under Homeland Security. An insecure non govt email server might be ubiquitous throughout the gov. Probably not, but lets know for sure, and not guess.
Homeland Security is starting to look more like FEMA during Bush.
"The phone call is coming from inside the house"
Meaning we have to clean house before we can find intruders.
We know one thing for sure, president HRC is not going to make them better agencies.
GW Bush the son of an ex CIA director should have done a better job with the CIA and the FBI when he became president. Instead he kept on the Clinton crew, and maybe they were his Father's crew. That could be the problem.
Bush 43 had Bush 41 crew, Please tell me which name you are talking about from Clinton42 that worked under bush43. IDK but would like to learn/
George Tenet Deputy Dir CIA July 1995. officially appointed Dir July 11, 1997, Tenet served past the end of the Clinton Admin and through the first term of George W. Bush.
Jack Lee is correct. The FBI is hopelessly lost in this new high tech intelligence war. But they do a lot of good work in spite of this weakness. Julian Assange is to high tech hacking what Frank Abagnale was to fraud. The FBI needs to bring in people who can do the work that needs to be done. They should use foreign interests and fugitives like Assange or Snowden the help them like they used Frank Abagnale.
The FBI Says It Can't Find Hackers to Hire Because They All Smoke Pot. Crap make pot legal then!

I agree. Tell them to make believe they are going undercover, and have to assume a cover that blends in with the hackers.
BTW, I thought the real IT people were in the NSA??
Why can't the FBI change policies to hire hacker who smoke weed? The hiring polices or the law needs to be changed. But Obama - who did smoke in Honolulu, renewed the class 1 for weed. F)*k Obama.
" ... the FBI and the National Cyber Crime Unit have more problem recruiting people because of the salaries they pay, which compare poorly with the salaries available in the private industry." - Richard Clayton
The FBI paid professional hackers a one-time fee to unlock a San Bernardino terrorist's iPhone rather than employing the Israeli firm Cellebrite, according to a Washington Post report.
" ... the FBI has loosened up. The agency, which maintained a strict ban until 1994, now operates under guidelines that allow prospective applicants to have smoked marijuana up to 15 times, though not within the previous three years; hard drugs up to five times, though not within the previous 10 years." - Jim "rezn8d" Lee
" ... Eric Corley, who publishes the hacker quarterly, 2600, has estimated that 25% of hackers in the US may have been recruited by the federal authorities to be their eyes and ears. "Owing to the harsh penalties involved and the relative inexperience with the law that many hackers have, they are rather susceptible to intimidation," - theguardian
The answer is not for the FBI to hire criminals and law breakers. The better solution is for wikileaks and other whistleblowers to expose what is being done by our government like the NSA illegal spying... They seems to not have learned from history.
