    1.    Tariffs are paid by the importer.
    2.    Tariffs disrupt supply chains.
    3.    Tariffs cause the cost of goods to increase and that increase is passed on to the consumer, therefore raising prices.
    4.    Rich people can afford that increase in price, poor people cannot.
    5.    Income tax is a tax on what you earn, therefore it is progressive
    6.    Tariff are a tax on the importer and the consumer; therefore, it is regressive.
    7.    Trump’s base is made up of mainly poor people.  Therefore, they are going to feel the effects of price increases more than rich people.
    8.    A poor person can afford a car for $30,000 without a tariff.  A 10% tariff will add an additional $3,000 to the price of the car.  The poor person will not be able to afford the car.  Where $3,000 to a rich person is tolerable and affordable, if that is the car they want.
    9.    Therefore, Trump is sticking it to his own people and they don’t even know i or care.

"By now, if you don't know you're being CONNED by Bozo Trump, you're the MARK": I remember a newsweek affiliate said this a couple weeks ago after learning that tremendous MEGA-Bombshell revealing Bozo Trump was a horrendous LOSER between the years of 1985 thru 1994:

So, I wouldn't say Clowny McTrump's INSANE Tariffs "affect" his base, they DECIMATE his base period but of course some of these poor lost souls would have still voted for him in 2020:

Senator Amy Klobuchar has a pretty accurate description of what this moron in our oval office is doing, comparing Clowny's retarded tariff trade war which is just an enormous TAX on ALL Americans, to his past casino FAILURES which are a glowing testament to his extremely poor business acumen:

"Klobuchar accuses Trump of treating farmers like 'poker chips' at his 'bankrupt casinos'"

I think Trump is using Tariffs as a threat to bully what he wants from other countries.  And he is doing it at our expense.  We are paying for him to use that threat.  Now he claims he and Mexico have a secret trade agreement. He is like a child saying, "I know something you don't."  It's another one of his cons.  The problem is his base thinks he really does have a secret trade agreement with Mexico or they simply don't care.

Well peoplepower, Clowny McTrump fell in love with Kim Jung Un and got NOTHING but MISSILES fired straight in his face for over 2 solid years: He tried to bully Mexico and got NOTHING once again at the expense of our farmers who are going bankrupt in record numbers and American Tax Payers who are paying an enormous price for his INSANITY:

Are we still wondering WHY almost everyone who leaves his chaotic retarded illegitimate administration essentially calls him an idiot?: Are we still wondering WHY the co-author of Bozo's book the "Art of the Deal" is calling for it to be re-classified as "FICTION"?:

You're right, many of his last remaining fans are in the "Marshall Applewhite" zone and will go down with the sinking Trump ship even if ordered to drink the KOOL-AID, but others are finally realizing this 72 year old fool is nothing but a charlatan, and a very bad one at that:

I would first like to wish a very happy birthday to the greatest of all presidents of my lifetime, Donald Trump. Thank God above, as I do daily, that he was elected to stop our nation's slide into degeneracy and globalism/socialism.

I'm no economist, but it is quite obvious no one, as of yet here, is even slightly economically inclined. It should be obvious to anyone with even a modicum of intelligence the 'trade war' is in  process, and is being waged with the explicit purpose of getting American citizens better deals for exports and imported goods.

I'm sorry that this thread exists, as the existence of this thread is basically a tragic cry for help. The help needed is understanding. Understanding can not come to a person who indulges the modern tabloid fake news media.

    Have a nice day.

Aren't you the fellow who said he didn't have a job or health insurance? I guess if you had a job you might buy stuff, and if you bought stuff you might notice you're paying a premium for so many consumer products because of Clowny McTrump's insane trade war tariffs which are bankrupting the hell out of the USA but of course, there's every indication that he could care less about you or your family:

"Trump's trade war leads to the lowest income for American farmers in years"

Wesman:  With all due respect, I read your profile. You don't like to linger in the forum world and yet, here you are.  You also don't call yourself an economist, but yet, you state that no one here has any sense of economy.  You state this thread is a tragic cry for help and understanding, because we follow fake news.

You fit the perfect profile of a Trump supporter who thinks they are intelligent about  a subject, but yet they are actually ignorant of said subject, but because they are ignorant, they don't even know it.  As they say, ignorance can be bliss.

You and Trump supporters, including Trump himself fit the profile of the Dunning-Kruger Effect.  You think you know something better than those who actually know the subject, but you can't realize that you don't know it because you don't have any knowledge of the subject and then you say the real news is the fake news.  You are drinking the KoolAid my friend.
