Washington (CNN)Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton can be deposed for a lawsuit about the State Department's recordkeeping of her emails, a federal judge said Monday.

Judge Royce Lamberth's order authorizing right-leaning group Judicial Watch to question Clinton and others effectively breathes new life into the years-long pursuit of Clinton's emails about State Department business on a private server.

This could get interesting.  Hillary is so slippery and slimy and she will find a way to get around it.  She knows if she is caught telling lies under oath she could be charged with perjury.  It will be interesting.

Why do you think Trump wouldn't sit down with Mueller and answer questions, Mike? Because he's so slippery and slimy he found a way to get around it?  tongue

I believe he didn't sit down with Mueller because he was a sitting president and there is such a thing as executive privilege.  Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State.  She was bound by the rules and regulations of the State Department.  Two very different things.

Mueller could have made Trump sit for a deposition. EP doesn't exist for protecting criminals. Even then Trump lied on the written answers he gave to Mueller. That's a crime right there, Mike.

There is one thing that statement of yours lacks, it's called proof.  Should President Donald Trump have lied on a written answer during the Mueller investigation, it was never proven.

Proof? I don’t think that word is even in his vocabulary.

Randy, Judicial Watch will get her. They already have the right to depose her. Judicial Watch has plugged along for years to get her, and have good success getting documents even the Congress has had little luck getting. I am very sure she will make a stand and try to fight the court order. It will be another wait and see. Hey, just saying

She is a pro at telling lies. Unfortunately, her grifts have always been sloppy. She no longer has the Government or her own party protecting her. I predict they get her this time around her rimes with the private server were blatantly obvious, and easy to prove. I say let her drift off into the sunset  She is her own worst enemy and always has been. Her own demons will serve her up her punishment.  What goes around comes around.

Can she appeal the judge’s ruling? If so she will and doesn't have to appear for a deposition unless she is subpoenaed. You can bet she’d fight a subpoena, this won’t happen for months maybe years. In the mean time the judge could disappear for many reasons and a new judge who is on Hiliary’s payroll takes over - by hook or by crook she’ll get past this, Mark my words.

I truly believe she will fight to give a deposition. I would think she could appeal the judge's decision, and will. She could drag it out for a very long time.

Mike, Update "Hillary Clinton's Appeal Argues No 'Extraordinary Circumstances' Justify Deposition"

"A Washington federal trial judge said Clinton and a former longtime aide must be deposed in a public-records suit about Clinton's use of a private email server. The impending depositions are "inappropriate, unnecessary, and a clear abuse of discretion," lawyers at Williams & Connolly and Wilkinson Walsh contend."

Does it matter? What's the point? Is anyone in Washington ever held accountable?
