There is much speculation about what will happen between now and Jan. 20.
Assuming President Trump is not successful challenging the election results, do you believe he will pardon himself? This had never been tried by any President and there's much debate about whether it would work.
If he does pardon himself, is that a signal of his guilt for something or a signal that he knows the hounds are after him unfairly?
Pardon himself for what crime? Have I missed something? I have never heard of receiving a pardon to keep as an ace in the hole... Come on now...
Lots of people have speculated about this possibility - pardoning himself from any future prosecution.
Sharlee, he is facing indictment in NY for tax evasion as soon as he leaves office. This would be state crimes rather than federal. Another question is can he pardon himself for a state crime?
