There are some who believe Trump is the great problem solver.  He is now trying to solve the problem as to why he wasn't elected for a second term by terminating the most sacrosanct document the country has, namely the Constitution of The United States of America.

See it's very easy, just remove the document that governs our law and order and bingo, Trump declares himself  president. As the new president of the country, he will not have to swear allegiance to the flag that represents our democratic republic or take an oath to protect and defend the constitution because there won't be one and there will no longer be a democratic republic.  But that won't matter to Trump, because he will be our next president by declaring himself the leader of our country.

Top Republicans stay silent on Trump’s call to terminate the Constitution
Even though GOP leaders are so far staying away, the White House has strongly rebuked Trump's comments, calling them "anathema to the soul of our nation.”

Why not?  Democrats have been attacking the second amendment for decades, and the first for even longer.  They have worked diligently to create Big Government, in direct conflict with the intent of that document, and have usurped state's rights as long as I can remember.  Trump has a good teacher.

Nevertheless, such statements are why I would have a hard time voting Trump again.  Not impossible, given the likes of another Biden as the alternative, but difficult.

Wilderness:  There you go again with your false equivalence argument.  You know as well as everybody else, the 2nd amendment is just one part of the constitution.  Trump doesn't need a good teacher. I believe he comes up with this crap all on his own.  He is now cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs in my book.

False?  How is it false to note that Democrats have violated the Constitution more times that I can count, and continue the practice every year, to Trump wanting to violate it in a fit of anger?

It's sad that every time an equivalency is show where you heroes are doing the same thing it is somehow "false".  The only reason it is "false" is because you don't want to hear it.

There you go again with your false exaggerations and your TDS. I do not agree that Bidens lies and manipulations were bad enough to overthrow your election, but he does have the right to speak freely. The Democrats have been doing it for years, suggesting getting rid of that old document written by a bunch of white slave owners. If you have not heard them it is because you are too focused on your TDS mufflers.

'Why not? Democrates has been attacking the  Second Amendmnt for decades,...' I kind of chuckle!                                        Yes, I noticed it become prominent under Nancy Pelosi, during the Trump era.                                                       Had Trump become president for a second time, could he put down the whole American Constitution?

I thought it wise to post the original comment Trump made on Truth Social to provide his words, and how the blurb was constructed. Context should matter.

"So, with the revelation of MASSIVE & WIDESPREAD FRAUD & DECEPTION in working closely with Big Tech Companies, the DNC, & the Democrat Party, do you throw the Presidential Election Results of 2020 OUT and declare the RIGHTFUL WINNER, or do you have a NEW ELECTION? A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution. Our great “Founders” did not want, and would not condone False & Fraudulent Elections!"

Note he was asking a question in his first sentence. It then appears he offers a view of what he seems to feel should be done.  He shares what he feels the Founders would want ” Founders did not want, and would not condone False & Fraudulent Elections!"

He gave no legal evidence to back up his thoughts. The statement was odd, uncalled for.

        Sharlee:  Thanks for the post.

False and Fraudulent election is exactly what Trump has been perpetuating by trying to obstruct the peaceful transfer of power to a duly elected president and now with his Truth Social message.  You can't ask for more hypocrisy than what he is perpetuating. I'll say one thing about Trump, he never gives up, but this time he is throwing sand into the wind.(I said it nicely).

You are beating a dead horse here, Republicans have turned on their spin machine to mollify the signicance of Trumps statement.

He is a tyrant at heart and he is not even smart enough to avoid advertising it to the whole world.

This fellow needs to be dispensed with, however I need him alive and well to bring disarray to the Republican Party...

"This fellow needs to be dispensed with, however I need him alive and well to bring disarray to the Republican Party..."

Yes you do.  With Trump the Republican candidate in 2024, Democrats have a near lock on the White House.  IMO

But only a near lock - you also have the real possibility Trump will sit in the chair again.  Are you willing to take the risk in order to gain a perceived advantage that may not be there after all?

I dunno, 2024, could well be an eternity in the world of politics.

It may well be too early to see how all of this will turn out.

There is the possibility that Trump could actually rise to power again, but in the current political climate and with the hounds at his heels, that appears unlikely.

Trump's behavior is quite predictable and he has those now that will challenge him. Do you really think that he would look at the big picture beyond his own self interests? He never has, you know. Odds are quite good that he will be the proverbial "bull in the China shop".

I agree, it is unlikely to have Trump in the seat again.  I won't vote for him if there is another reasonable candidate!

Of course, like you, I am extremely unlikely to vote Democrat after seeing the mess they have made in just 2 years.  Or the unjustified persecution of Trump, for that matter.  If it is Trump vs Clinton, Biden or most other Democrats it will have to be Trump, however distasteful that might be.

Faye, all the opinion expressed in the article are those of the writers.                                      Agree that Trump want rules, regulations, and articles in the Constitution to be run down, where's the original source?                                  The Hill distance itself from the story. That tell me an you, that original Trump sayying, whether by word or letter, can be taken out of context. Thanks.

This is straight from Trump' Truth Social Media page.

Outside of the gross exaggeration involved in moving from election rules to the entire constitution, you are correct.  Trump suggests that massive fraud be combated by termination of constitutional rules on voting matters.

PeoplePower, after asking question about election frauds, this is what. Trump, suggested:  'A massive fruad of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articls, even those found in the  Constitution'. So, where's the issue of  Trump saying to tear the Constitution? Who's reading him out of context? Thanks.

No.  Absolutely not.  Notwithstanding that our government all too often ignores the constitution, as does the Supreme Court, I would not support that.

Unless, of course, the requirements to modify (or abolish) the document, as laid out in the Constitution, were meticulously followed.

wildernss, you're very forth coming. It's Trump, or none else to me. But I'm an outsider.                                          For 2 years, Biden and the Democrates waste America.  Could they count that move as equate to plundering the American Constitution? Thanks.

wildernessposted 22 months agoin reply to this

Good point.  Certainly our President is ignoring his constitutional requirement to protect our borders.  He is ignoring his constitutional duty to enforce our laws.  Cities and states are doing the same, with wholehearted agreement from citizens.

Our government has, hundreds of times, ignored the limitations the constitution puts on the federal government in making laws, usurping states rights on a regular basis.

So have they, too, "plundered the American Constitution"?  I would say "yes".

Yes, I may not live in the USA. The challenge is not bringing the various 'pieces' together into one 'pole'.                                     Let's say, Mike Pence become Independent. And he was later adopted by the Dems. Would you vote for him?

Pence is the very opposite of Democratic Party values and principles. He would not want to be a Democrat and he is unacceptable to the party.

Mike Pence does not adhere to values and principles that would attract me, so the answer is NO.
