Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) continues to carry out its duties as one of the nation’s key enforcement agencies, charged with upholding immigration law and protecting the integrity of U.S. borders. ICE agents are responsible for arresting and detaining migrants who have been deemed to be in the country illegally. Contrary to many misconceptions, these individuals are not arbitrarily detained; they are subject to a thorough legal process. Those who have not yet received due process are granted hearings before deportation is considered. The goal of ICE’s work is not cruelty, but compliance with the law and the preservation of national sovereignty.

Yet, in recent years, ICE agents have faced immense challenges in simply doing their jobs. Protests have erupted outside detention centers across the country, often turning chaotic. Activists have blocked access to facilities, damaged property, and disrupted operations meant to ensure the fair processing of detainees. Some ICE agents and employees have even been doxed,  their personal information leaked online,  leading to harassment, threats, and in some cases, physical attacks. These actions place federal employees and their families at serious risk for simply performing their sworn duties.

Recognizing these growing threats, President Donald Trump took steps to ensure the safety of both ICE personnel and federal detention centers. Under his direction, National Guard units were deployed to protect the facilities and restore order during periods of unrest. His administration made it clear that violence against law enforcement officers or the obstruction of federal operations would not be tolerated.

Despite these measures, some activists and politicians continue to express open support for the protests and even for halting deportations altogether. They argue that enforcing immigration law is inherently cruel,  a view that dismisses both the rule of law and the many legal immigrants who have followed proper procedures to enter the United States.

The media, for its part, has too often amplified one-sided narratives that portray ICE as brutal or heavy-handed. What these reports often leave out is the reality of what agents face on the ground. ICE officers frequently encounter resistance,  individuals who refuse to exit vehicles, barricade themselves in homes, or physically fight arrest. In these instances, agents are forced to use reasonable force to ensure compliance and safety. Their actions are not driven by malice, but by necessity.

What’s often overlooked in this debate is a simple truth: individuals who are in the country illegally have the option to leave voluntarily. The U.S. government even operates a program offering assistance, including travel arrangements, for migrants wishing to return to their home nations on their own accord. Choosing that path spares individuals from detention or forced removal and helps maintain a lawful and orderly process.

In the end, ICE’s mission is not one of cruelty but of law enforcement. Every sovereign nation has the right,  and the responsibility, to enforce its borders. Those who vilify ICE agents ignore the difficult, often dangerous work they perform each day to uphold that principle. Without them, America would lose one of its most vital tools for maintaining security, fairness, and respect for the law.

We have immigration laws, and ICE agents to enforce those laws. If someone is in our nation illegally, they need to respect our laws and leave. If not, I appreciate that we have ICE agents to do what they were hired to do.

What about the other side of the story? What about the countless videos of ice brutalizing citizens?  Antagonizing citizens? Inciting citizens?  Arresting citizens? Citizens being detained?

Can't blame the media for this one.. this is a totally organic movement of Americans posting their encounters.

AND there are live streams of the Portland and Chicago facility... Portland runs continuously and Chicago almost continuously where people can see exactly what is going on at any minute and it's not the BS that's posted here...

I believe my original post already addressed your concerns — if someone resists arrest or refuses to comply, law enforcement has to take control of the situation. The videos shared only show a brief moment of what actually happened. ICE is carrying out its duty by arresting illegal migrants, and I fully support their efforts. I’m genuinely disappointed in those who don’t stand behind the enforcement of our laws.

Very telling how many choose to bury their heads in the sand and look the other way... And no, I will never stand behind the brutalization of American citizens.

No brutalization, and they aren't American Citizens.

            Get it straight willow!

There's LEGAL IMMIGRATION which we embrace, accept, love ----and there's CRIMINAL behavior, via ILLEGAL entry into this country (with many continuing in this practice of bad behavior)
The latter is the mission of ICE .

I completely agree—ICE is doing its job by enforcing immigration laws. We have clear immigration laws, and ICE ensures those laws are being followed. We welcome immigrants who come here legally and use the proper pathways to become American citizens. We also welcome visa workers who follow the legal process to come here and contribute to our workforce. The United States has always been a nation that embraces those who enter through legal channels.

                They're brutalizing American citizens.

Folks can say that's not happening but the reality on the ground doesn't back it....

                    Sharlee,

Like I always say, American citizens who are not impeding ICE doing their job, not attacking their ICE facilities, NO attacking ICE agents don't have any problem with them.

These are the people who comprehend the trouble massive illegal immigration has brought our country.  These are individuals who know the only way for our country to survive as America is to deport illegal aliens, secure our border, and enforce immigration laws.  This eliminates those who will flaunt our laws for the type of immigrants who obey the laws, show respect for the country, and value assimilating to the culture of The United States.

There immigrants we NEED and have to have in order to function as the wealthiest nation in the world.

Shar:  Thank you for offering another informative, clear report on current events.  Now watch as the extremist mob attacks you, while at the same time showing that they have not read and understood what you have actually said.  They will offer no concrete refutation, only left-wing talking points delivered by the likes of Rachel Maddow and that ilk.  Stay safe!  Blessings for the day!

Linda,    Thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement! I really appreciate your support and understanding. You’re absolutely right, many people react without fully reading or thinking through what’s being said. Unfortunately, some also seem to believe they can pick and choose which laws should be enforced to fit their narrative. And as a rule, they tend to choose poorly, their logic often escapes any trace of common sense. I’ll keep sharing information as clearly and fairly as I can. Wishing you blessings as well and a wonderful day!

To show the resolve of the American public to remove illegal aliens from our country, and protect our borders, people are stepping up to be part of the enforcement efforts.

ICE Receives More than 150,000 Applications to Join ICE Law Enforcement to Help Remove Worst of the Worst Criminal Illegal Aliens from U.S.

WASHINGTON – The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) today announced Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) received more than 150,000 applications from Americans who want to join U.S. (ICE) to help arrest and remove the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens from America’s streets. ICE has extended more than 18,000 tentative job offers.

“ICE has received more than 150,000 applications from patriotic Americans who want to defend the homeland by removing the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens from the U.S.,” said Secretary Noem. “We have already issued more than 18,000 tentative job offers. Americans are answering their country's call to serve and help remove murderers, pedophiles, rapists, terrorists, and gang members from our country.”

Mike, that’s an incredible show of resolve from the American people—150,000 applications truly speak volumes about how deeply citizens care about protecting our borders and restoring law and order. It’s refreshing to see so many step forward to support ICE in removing dangerous criminals from our streets. What strikes me most is how this reflects a growing frustration with those who believe laws can be enforced selectively, depending on their political leanings.

Thankfully, there are still many who understand that our nation’s safety depends on consistently upholding all laws, not just those that suit a particular narrative.   Seems common sense will prevail.
