   In 1952, President Truman established one day a year to be a 'National Day of Prayer'.
   
   In 1988, President Reagan designated the first Thursday in May of each year to be the 'National Day of Prayer'.
   
   In June, 2007, Presidential candidate Obama declared 'the United States is no longer a Christian nation'.
   
   In September, 2009, a 'National Day of Prayer' for the Muslim religion was held beside the White House with 50,000 attendees.
   
   In 2010, President Obama canceled the 'National Day of Prayer' under the guise of 'not wanting to offender anyone', never mind he offended a nation where Christians compose 80% of the population.
   
   Is this part of Obama's fundamental change for America?

      You didn't know that? America is also supposed to make freinds with terrorists, since we just don't understand them.(2008) That's why he wanted to release the Uigher Tigers loose in America. They'd "acclimate" to a more peaceful society if we learn to accept their differences. Like wanting Americans dead. We took that out of context.

         It's a hoax. There was no President-hosted or Administration-sanctioned Muslim Day of Prayer. (But there was an independently-organized "Islam on Capitol Hill" prayer service that had nothing to do with the government)
         
         BUT...did you know that Obama held the first presidential Passover Seder in the White House? By your logic, I guess it shows a partiality to Jews, even though he isn't one.

   There is something so Hitler-like in declaring a national day of prayer....
   He always used religion to further his "superiority" claims.
   Like we all need to do the sig heil to ...who's god?
   
   Don't like it...it feels like forcing something down everyones throat...
   And very non-inclusive too.
   
   No--keep god where he/she/it belongs.
   To flaunt it dirties it.
   
   
   Plus, then you have a lot to live up to....We as followers of Christ? Really?

         Hitler was a good christian too...nazi's escaped via the vatican.

            Hitler wasn't a very good Christian if he was even a Christian at all, he had people killed and probably killed some himself. I don't think that's very Christlike, do you?

   I wasn't aware that Obama cancelled the National Day of Prayer. Really? Can somebody post a link to the announcement.   Then how can there be a Muslim day of prayer if there cannot be a Christian day of prayer anymore?

      Here ya go.  We still have a National Day of Prayer.  There will no longer be an official service, even though there will continue to be a yearly service for the muslims.

      No there can't be a Muslim day of prayer because they MUST pray 5 times a day! There was even a college that created a special room for them to put their prayer blankets down. No problem with the separation of church and state there though.

   And I resent that last statement from nv...what am I cabbage? A dandelion? A purple flower?
   Obama IS doing what I want...maybe not what YOU want, but then...join the club of Americans who don't get the gvt. they want...It's a symptom of where we live...I suffered from it for eight long horrible years...you're a lightweight if you can't handle it after 2.

   Barack Obama was the first President to hold a presidential Passover Seder, too. That would be a Jewish tradition, not a Muslim or Christian one. I guess he's a "secret Jew" too.
   
   I think his consistent point is that all religions should be honored, not just Christianity.
