   Charles Krauthammer says "Some Tea Party victories hurt conservatives."
   
   Last Tuesday in Delaware was a bad day not only for Republicans but for conservatives.
   
   Tea partier Christine O'Donnell scored a stunning victory over establishment Republican Mike Castle. Stunning, but pyrrhic.

      Krauthammer is typical of the establishment republicans who want to maintain control no matter who or what they send to D.C.
      
      Whats real funny is how many libs are using him and Karl Rove as proof that the tea party are a bunch of wackos.

         Many in the Tea Party are wackos. Others are fearful, ignorant ordinary folks. They are all being manipulated for their own nefarious purposes by the likes of the Koch brothers, Richard Scaife Mellon and Dick Armey.

      This is about the retention of power...Eastern liberal Republicans are scrambling to hold power and, rightfully so, feel threatened by the Tea Party and its straightforward declaration of certain conservative values, such as:
      Fiscal responsibility.
      Constitutionally limited government.
      Free markets.
      
      Liberal racialists insist the movement is comprised of racists, homophobes, and worse...That dog doesn't hunt anymore. The impetus for the Tea Party movement is excessive government spending and taxation...As Clinton used so effectively in 1992, " It's the Economy, Stupid.."
      
      The Tea party isn't about winning every battle ( re Vermont ), but rather about winning the war. The message being sent to politicians, of both stripes, is clear: Fiscal responsibility, accountability, and competence will be demanded by WE, the people...

   I think they've already shown the GOP what type of effect they'll have. They will take over the GOP party as they know it. Those old goats will be gone in the next 8 years and the Religious Right will control the GOP. Only if they can accomplish something once in office. What they fail to understand, as do their voters. They are simply a handful of candidates being elected to an office that requires more than 100 votes to pass anything. If they can't convince others to think their way, and I'm sure they won't. They can tell the average American what they want to hear and they'll get the vote, but you can't piss down the leg of a politician and tell them it's raining and their gonna buy it. If they can't accomplish anything. THE WILL BE EATEN BY THEIR OWN. The Tea Party will turn on them as quickly as Christine O'Donnell has on the Republican Party, remember "she runs under their ticket, but she said, she doesn't affect their elections because the Republicans are liberals  and her voters are Christian Conservatives."

      Their stated goal is to counter what Obama and a democrat congress are doing.

   Make your voice heard: While the media devote hundreds of cameras and barrels of ink to the teabaggers, there are many Americans who have a completely different view of what's wrong with government today.
   
   They think the government should be doing more, not less, to put the unemployed back to work. They think that we should be ending the policy of permanent warfare abroad in favor of creating jobs at home, and that tax cuts for the super-rich make no sense.
   
   On Saturday, Oct. 2, a number of progressive groups plan a march on Washington called "One Nation Working Together." They include the NAACP, AFL-CIO, National Council of La Raza and many peace organizations.

   In Delaware, the Republican voters were so angry that they rejected a popular congressman and gave their Senate nomination to an apparently unemployed 41-year-old woman whose major life success had been an ongoing performance as Wacko Conservative Girl on late-night talk shows. In Alaska, they were so mad that they tossed out their incumbent senator for Joe Miller, a lawyer who believes unemployment compensation is unconstitutional, except when his wife is receiving it.

   There are simply not enough teabaggers to win the.  You hear a lot about the tea party, and tehy have a loud voice, but nearly every one in teh tea part IS vocal, and when you look at the numbers, well it is a small number of people making a lot of noise.
   
   The probably vote will yet again come down to republican vs democrat voters.
   
   I only recently found out that the teaparty was actually formed in opposition against Geaorge bush shortly before he left office. Kind of funny how they will seemingly argue against anyone to continue their 'cause'.

      I hope you're right. The Tea Party has had a profound effect on the GOP in many states, pulling it sharply to the right--against global warming, against Rowe v. Wade, against gun control, against health care reform, against gay rights, against Social Security and Medicare, against taxes, against stem cell research, in favor of teaching creationism and allowing prayer in public schools, and so forth.

         I actually would be interested to see what would happen if an IQ test was performed on the teabaggers and compared to the rest of humanity.
         
         I was reading in the telegraph today hwo Sarah Palin was tlaking about national health care 'death board' who decide if someones treatment is worth the cost it represents to taxes.
         
         She somehow seemed to think that it would be inhuman to allow this to occur, how could they have a board that decides if people should live or die based on monetary value.
         
         It seemed insane to me that nobody pointed out that maybe the current system where no one gets treated at all, and the people with high cost terminal illenesses still die, is probably worse.
         
         Yes I know you can get treated over here if you have a serious illness or accident.  But minor ailments can become more serious, and just being bandaged up and sent home is rarely enough, especially when you compare national healthcare systems where you get post treatment care such as physiotherapy.
         
         There is a lot wrong with Americas current healthcare system, and it seems absolutely insane to me that some people are actually opposing a healthcare reform which would see a huge improvement in healthcare for Americans, and might even help bring them up to a standard that meets the quality in most westernized countries.

   I voted yesterday. no 'angry' signs or statues of liberty standing outside. all was peaceful. it felt good to get it done. people working at the polls were upbeat, friendly.
   
   from people I talk with or overhear, the average person is very tired of hearing the angry rhetoric. now I'll continue to mute their commercials, recycle the flyers and ignore the political phone calls.
