does it matter to general americans that whether bin laden gets captured or not?..if yes are americans ready to keep usa army in afghanistan for time till bin laden gets captured?
The American government has no real desire to capture Bin Laden, and neither would his capture change anything about this worlds current political landscape. Neither would it reduce the threat of terrorism, and neither would it effect the taliban. Bin Laden is merely the public face of a much wider and much richer network. The capture of Bin Laden would have about as much effect on Al Qaeda as the capture of Hilary Clinton would on America. A bit of shock, some mourning, a bit of pity, but ultimately just one strong brain out of thousands of others.
but what about general americans..is bin laden an non issue?
Short tem memories, and paying attention to the economy. More priority now.
No it's not a non-issue.
It's an issue.
It SHOULD BE a top priority.
General Americans are "not" getting to set any priorities at all??????
never have gotten to actually, when you think of it, and truthfully look at it.
In an organised beauracracy, combined with strong democratic principles, any government is bound to bring to book any culprit, any terrorist, or any criminal and the case will have its logical end in the Courts.
However, the Bin laden case is not properly handled by USA. The facts that Pakistan's role was instrumental in the carnage were set aside. It began to pour millions and billions of dollars as "aid" to Pakistan, which helped the military continue their terrorist designs.
Even now, if USA is sincere in capturing Mr.Bin, a public announcement should be made, offering a billion dollar to any individual or organisation, who brings Mr.Bin dead or alive. He will be dragged into the lawns of the White House within weeks.
Well first off, bin laden had nothing to do with 9.11
Second off, the fed govt is able to manipulate him for their own power hungry gain.
So., does it matter? Yes, but not in the way you might think
If Bin is not linked to 9/11, why should he hide in the mountains and caves? To plan more....?
... because the entire US army is after him.
Bin laden is to the US army what "Emmanuel Goldstein" was to "Big Brother" in Orwell's 1984.

Yeah, i dunno - that don't look like bin laden.
We all need to feed our escape goats, so they can stay alive and well...
Everyone I know in Saudi Arabia thinks he is dead!! But if he is alive it gives the government something to use to justify their war efforts...... so do they really want him dead???
I've read that he has serious health problems and isn't likely to live much longer. He's already done his damage, and sewn the seeds of terroism in many other countries. Somebody said that the number of Al Qaida in Afghanistan-Pakistan is under a hundred. But now we've stirred up the Taliban, and there are plenty of them.
I heard he was sufering from Kidney Disease. or at least US intel thought that.
seems a moot point now, dead or alive, an excuse to fight on I guess.
Is there any difference between alqaeda and taliban?
Same goal, different avatars....
we should not let the terrorists become wiser than others.
Even if he has kidney disease, he should be captured and tried. No law protects sick terrorists.
What's the difference btwn the us gov and the Taliban?
Both want more power, both are attacking another group of people who are largely innocent , and both are nothing more than governments
No its not important. It was at first, but, now no.
I think the overall desire of the American people is to obtain some relative peace. We have been knee deep in war since 2001. We are tired and spent. We are worried. We are afraid for our children and grandchildren. We want our boys and girls to come home, but, realize they cannot. So we are weary.
Bin is really the last thing on our minds. Although, it would be a bonus to capture/kill him. But then again......., who cares? We've got bigger fish to fry, if you get my meaning.......
At least this is the over all temperament of the Midwest. We are tired, weary, and very worried about everyone, every little thing, and anything.
Change of preferences midway is not good for ourselves.
The beast has encountered us. If we get tired, it will kill us. Let us kill it before it kills us.
But common people are not at all involved in direct fighting. They are expected to offer their moral support only.
Tell that to all the Midwestern American mothers grieving for the lost of their children.
I think they are smack dab in the middle of fighting this war, and we are tired. Just look at America right now? Does it not seem like we are tired? Sure it does. Look at cable news if you disagree. Cable news is like opening up an People magazine. America isn't doing anything. We aren't flying to the moon, we aren't discovering any major medical breakthroughs, we haven't passed decent legislation since the nineties, and the list goes on. Our cable news station have nothing to talk about, so they gone the gossip column route to create news.
America's tired, weary and very worried. And make no mistake about it- EVERYONE and I mean EVERYONE is involve with the fighting over in the Mideast. For every dollar we earn with our bare hands; Iraq gets a dollar, Afghanistan gets a dollar, Pakistan gets a dollar....... If our children aren't involved, then its a father, mother, or a brother, an uncle, an aunt, and if its no one we know then its our hard earn dollars being thrown into this mixture.
Therefore, I completely disagree with you. Everyone of us Americans, are directly involved in this war somehow. It's exhausting our resources. Simply put.
Americans have come to understand how their governments erred somewhere, some day. I understand the feelings of the American public... they are tired and weary... I agree. But that is the status which an enemy will like to eliminate you. So, instead of giving up your fight against terrorists, you think constructively.
You have stopped war in Iraq. And the Afgan war will end soon, if Mr.Obama continues his plans. What about Pakistan? When are you going to stop the aid given to it? From the day Pakistan came into existence, America is aiding it. And the American aid is used not for development schemes... but for purchasing arms, ammunition, F16, etc. For purchasing nuclear weapons, they turn to China. If an aided country misuses the aid, it should be stopped. But Americans never did it.
It is strange that a nuclear armed country relies on the aid given by another country for its existence. Pakistan is a liability for Americans. Will America select good friends at least in future? The one who never expects anything from you except goodwill will only prove a good friend and an asset.
Call me crazy. But I think he is already dead. He was in bad health
Bad health never leads to death. A man who has married 4 or 5 times will not die so early. And he has yet to pay for his sins. America's another enemy, R.F.Castro is already in bad health for over a decade... mind it. Death does not come when we like it. And possibilities are not proving true.

Osama bin Laded is dead. The most wanted person in the world is no more. He was a terrorist. He was a villain to America, though many people think that he was the political creation of America. Is Trrorism Ended by the death of Bin Laden?

This fascinates me. The bungler in chief has changes his story a few times about Bin Laden's well deserved death. One might think they could just watch the videos from the assault team along with the helicopter-mounted cameras, develop a timeline, create some PowerPoint slides and tell the people...
