What does she expect? What is there to respond to? Obama is going to offer a 300 billion dollar stimulus but why would that work when an 800 billion dollar stimulus failed? There really is nothing to respond to and really no reason to have a joint session of congress called to listen to his BS. Obama is doing nothing but using congress as a campaign prop. No wonder some republicans aren't going to show up!

Yep, hopefully they're as tired of his hogwash as I am.   It's like waaahha waaah or blah blah blah anymore, same ol' nonsense.
Including his lack of response to Hoffa calling citizens S.O.B.'s.

He called the Tea-Party sob's, NOT all citizens.

And it's not half as bad as the Right-wingers who say that Liberals hate America, and that Obama is anti-American.

          Difference.
          One is outright cussing/demeaning citizens.
The other is an assessment based on obvious actions.

Not for nothing Obama called Bush unpatriotic for the debt he incurred before doubling Bush's debt in a 1/4 of the time!

remember its not a stimulus now its an investment haha........he has even said he wont give all the details of his plan so why make such a big deal about the speech and then try and play it down as he is.......

I've noticed the WH is sort of downplaying the speech. Is that so we won't get our hopes up too much? Personally, I hope the POTUS has great new ideas that will be effective. I have a son-in-law out of work, one whose hours have been cut, and one whose business is struggling because of the economy. I also have a daughter who hasn't been able to find a job in the healthcare field, even though her qualifications are stellar.

I believe what you say is exactly what everyone would like.  I know he has built expectations to high and people will only be disapointed.  Its a shame because I as a conservative would even get behind him if he would do the right things.  For example, I had no big problem with bill clinton as at least he maintained a good economy and actually worked with the other side rather than just saying he wants to and then blaming them....

He had no choice, it was a republican congress that kept him honest!

"I as a conservative would even get behind him if he would do the right things."

How can you change your position like that?
Just the other day you hated him and called him a pos!

I have read that Obama wants to give tax breaks for businesses that will hire Americans. He wants to continue Unemployment, so people who have lost jobs won't be penniless. And he wants a works program to fix our infrastucture, and to develop alternative energy.

He's the commander in chief...they work with him. They snub him, what do they want in return?

This is exactly what I mean....Repubs are the only ones not getting along....deliberately.

They are obstructionsts who can't take a loss.
And they work for Republicorp, not "the American People".

They don't have the numbers to "obstruct" anything! The truth is Obama can't even get his own party to vote for his ideas. His last budget was defeated in the senate 97-0!!!

Every time the Republicans come up with an idea or plan, Obama shoots it down yet he won't come up with one of his own because he doesn't want to take the blame when it doesn't work. He reminds of some little kid who blames all his problems and mistakes on someone else.

You want to see an obstructionist, look at your guy in the White House. And you wonder why the Republicans aren't working with him. They simply can't work with the man.

I would have told him to go jump in a lake a long time ago. Yes, I would have told the POTUS to go jump in a lake. You can't show a lack of respect to a man you didn't respect in the first place.

His speech tomorrow night will be just more of the same. Problem is government doesn't create jobs, LMC. It's a fantasy to think they do. If Obama and Congress will get out of the way and cut taxes on businesses (YES, small and large), the private sector will create jobs.

What part of that do you not understand?

Actually, I kind of like the idea that they won't be putting out a rebuttal.
In addition, the article that's referenced indicates that "Every member of Congress, and -- more importantly -- the American people, will provide a reaction to the president's address".  Perhaps they, like the rest of us have decided to leave the entertainment to Pelosi and company, and "react" by voting in 2012.

    Remember in November 2012.

Any of you on the right ever consider that you might be wrong?

Anyone going to chastise you for contributing to the discord?

As soon as one of us is wrong, we'll admit it. Your problem is you can't handle the truth.

He and our progressive leaders have lost their way. Even on something simple they get snookered by those who pay to play with the promises of social media and techno advancement. The president has full administrative and command authority as an executive. Order a refocus off all dollars and abilities under his commend and let the Congress and the Courts fight out why he cannot do it. Otherwise, sadly, what is there to comment on is a good question. Sad for those who put their faith in the vows of "change we can count on."
