Activists call for boycott of Johnson & Johnson over chemicals in baby shampoo
Campaigners have tried for more than two years to get Johnson & Johnson to remove the trace amounts of potentially cancer-causing substances
The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics has unsuccessfully been urging the world's largest health care company for 2 1/2 years to remove the trace amounts of potentially cancer-causing chemicals — dioxane and a substance called quaternium-15 that releases formaldehyde — from Johnson's Baby Shampoo, one of its signature products.

well I use baby shampoo and now I may throw it out...
Thanks for the information! I had no idea!
I hope they succeed!
Here's the link to their site, by the way: http://safecosmetics.org/
I also recommend this site as a good resource to figure out what kinds of nasty stuff you've been slathering all over your skin: http://www.ewg.org/skindeep/
I heard this on the news this morning...
I hope they succeed! This is definitely not something I want to be using on my son.
"potentially cancer causing agents"
LOLOLOL
It's about damn time but why single out Johnson and Johnson?
Indeed. If you are going to drop them and use something else. make sure it actually has less of these chemicals first.
Vey few and far between, products without chemicals. Check out Aubrey Organics, Terressentials, Jason Naturals for non-toxic skin and body care. Also: Uncle Harry's, Eco-Dent, Sustainable Community Development, Seventh Generation, Earth Friendly Products, Lehman's Grain Mill, Kiss My Face, Suki's Naturals, and Miracle Distributors.
Yay Mary Kay never tells you there is formeldahyde in their make up, learned that the hard way. Went to a dermatologist and found this out! Most stuff we use on the market does have harmful stuff in it!
I have this video on one of my hubs about toxins in the home.
There are so many dangerous chemicals in everything, everywhere. Why put them in baby products?
