A Nation of Sociopaths
Ruled by sociopaths?
Agree to disagree? Not anymore!
We are a nation of sociopaths, formerly known as a nation of laws. The rule of law is on life support, and it seems that the law only applies to certain groups of people. The political elite exempt themselves from the rule of law, and they do so because they are responsible for making the law. This allows them to change the law, when they want something at any given time. Government for and by the people, has fallen off the map as society has been thrown into a perpetual state of victimhood. The political elite, Republicans and Democrats have convinced a large chunk of the population that they are victims, and that the only way out of this victimhood is to vote for X candidate. All of this while the policies that X candidate supports, make unemployment, poverty, discrimination, etc. much worse, while giving the illusion that they are throwing these perceived victims a bone. There is never an intention to solve the actual problem, or help the situation, because a solution to that problem means that there is no longer specific need for the government programs that are billed as a necessity for addressing said problem. The Federal Government must create these crises, in order sustain the narrative that Uncle Sam is needed to fix the crisis of the day. Even if one argues that politicians have good intentions, that does not excuse the policies that have crippling effect on our economy and our God given rights. Congress is made up of many individuals with law degrees, so this argument of ignorance when it comes to the political cause and effect of bad policy, does not pass the smell test.
The New Normal?
a person with a personality disorder manifesting itself in extreme antisocial attitudes and behavior and a lack of conscience.
Sociopaths are said to have a poor sense of right and wrong. The sociopath knows that he is doing wrong, but continues to do so, as he/she feels no obligation to cease said behavior despite the immorality/illegality that may be involved. The sociopath is in the same realm of a psychopath, but the psychopath acts void of conscience. The difference here is just state of mind, the end result or behavior is the same. Sociopaths are not able to understand or share someone else’s feelings, and that lack of empathy makes it difficult for them to fully understand how they may be hurting someone or something. Being classified as a sociopath does not always include being physically violent, and can be very passive in nature based on one’s world view. This is the direction that we are heading right now.
Our political leanings, are usually based on our world view, or how we see the world from our own perspective, based on life experiences that we have had. Everyone has a world view, but people tend to let it interfere with judgement when it comes to forming opinions of issues. First I want to be clear, all opinions are worthy of being heard, even those that sound like lunacy. This is the reason we the First Amendment. Without opposing points of view, and contrast between all positions, no one ever learns anything. We learn by making mistakes, and the only way to realize that you have labeled or categorized something in a way that shows inaccuracy or bias, is to see it from a different perspective.
America, more than meets the eye?
A Pen and a Phone!
How many people know the motivation behind the communist manifesto that was written by Karl Marx. Do people know what they are referring to when they call someone a Marxist? We use some words so loosely, that sometimes the true meaning of the word or phrase can be watered down or reduced to what can be perceived as name calling. We, as Americans use too many words and phrases that might as well be on a bumper sticker. Freedom and liberty come to mind. Do we even know what true liberty is anymore? Most of us do not, although many think that they do.
Democrats love when a Democrat President is going around congress, and acting alone on issues that require congress’s approval. Republicans apparently like the sound of Donald Trump, when he goes on one of his totalitarian rants. Can we just agree to disagree like the old days, without telling the other side to sit down and shut up? We have turned the whole political system into a vehicle for revenge. Barack Obama spoke in 2012 of Democrats “punishing their enemies”, and voting to get “revenge”. Is this what we have been reduced to? The whole country has went full on sociopath, and we are looking at front runners in both parties, that are , you guessed it, SOCIOPATHS! All of this so we can replace the current sociopath in chief. Our Constitution was meant for a moral society, and it seems that all morality has left the building. Sometimes I wonder if we have reached the point of no return. Time will tell.
