Our Icing Smile

Updated on June 20, 2017

Our first icing smile

My daughter was determined to be medically fragile at my visit to the gynecologist when I was pregnant. You know that one visit all of us mommies and daddy's look forward to? To find out the sex of your baby. My visit went into a direction that I wasn't able to grasp. I wasn't able to grab a hold of reality. Then just sitting there in a parking lot with my mom crying together we sat up and my mom looked at me and said, " you are the mother, you are the one that has to carry this baby throughout. I say that we let God take this one and we just wait and see." From my mom who isn't a let me blast my religion type of person. It struck me. She WAS right and I needed to have strength. Guess what? I did and you know what I wouldn't change our outcome for the world. My daughters medical problems have inclined her to be placed in a nurse based day treatment facility at 11 months of age. About 6 months ago one of her nurses recommended a program called Icing Smiles, Inc. I said hmm that sounds interesting enough to look up! Are you as curious as I was? Explore the world of Icing Smiles, Inc with me.

Our icing angel

We were blessed with a cake from Andrea's cake Creations. The picture shown is the special cake she gave Miss Alexia. When we met Andrea, Alexia was very nervous but thank goodness one of her son's was Alexia's age. As we were talking Alexia decided to go play. That was such a surprise because she is typically shy.

After securing the cake and driving home with my four ways on and well smelling the cake the entire way. Miss Alexia finally made it to the stage of I WANT my Cake NOW! It took a lot to keep her back long enough to get to cake time :). Once we got to cake time she devoured most of her cake! Thank you so much Icing smiles, Inc and Andrea's Cake creations for making my little girls birthday so much more rewarding for her! After a long year of hospital stays and surgeries it was really nice to say hey I have something that I AM looking forward to! A birthday party with a cake of our dreams :) Icing smiles not only made my little girl smile but me as well! She is Princess Alexia and she will forever be grateful for Icing smiles and what they do!
