Scars But Nothing More

Updated on April 12, 2013

This on-line stuff is fascinating

Alluring at the least

But I never realized how large

Was the all consuming beast

I put my personal information

All there was to know about me

I listed like a dolt on Face book

Where anyone can see

I joined the writing websites

Where I penned my poems and songs

Short stories and my novels

Well portions, my novels were to long

I signed myself on Pinterest

On Linksys and twitter too

I opened an account on Gmail

I thought it was what I needed too

But what I find more disconcerting

The things that trouble me

Are people asking me to friend them

And the information they offer me

They seem oblivious to Google

Where there are pages about me

But when I Google them

There’s nothing there to see

So please understand the callous mindset

The hesitation demurring me

For I find the simple act of trust

Has lost its place in me

As people surf the internet

And happen on my scripts

They might read my written words

My tributes, poems, and quips

But they’ll find I’m much more resonate

And a more introverted than before

They’ll see scars borne on the surface

But of me now there’s nothing more

Hi Stuart - I am so in agreement with your sentiments and concerns. I try to be careful what I put out there, but it seems like everybody can find out anything they want if they know how to search. I think it is unhealthy and a bit scary. Sharing.

BTW I wanted to recommend you, but when I tried to all sorts of windows popped open and wanted information from me and wanted me to sign up for something and that made me uncomfortable.

Is there some other way to accomplish the same thing? What kind of recommendation would you like? Do you want it posted on Linked In or somewhere else. Let me know and I can do that. Blessings. Theresa

      Hi must65gt and ???????

It was but a lark and take on your friend thing with a rye smile…….the end. Loved the nature nurture of your poem and its direction in communication left me with a computer ( commuter ) smile dreaming of a fast train.

      Hi MustRiskIt:

Felt a connection to what you are twittering

A smurf I see is testing that waters of the world

      Taste makes us more discerning

For twitter is what nature makes it

High in the sky I see a hawk

Hey my rabbit instinct makes sense in this environment

Scares are hard to heel, dog go on heel

You have tried so much and yes retiring

      From communication lust and boredom

A friend in need is a friend indeed

      So what about it?
