Brain Teasing Quizzes
Best Quizzes for Everyone
Line up for these great brain teasers as you wander through the history books, some philosophy and religious tests and also into the realm of human behaviour. There is no actual title to serve these quizzes so they are featured here in a lensography under my avatar.
As a giant here in Squidoo I have visited and rated many lenses and feel that my knowledge is something to share with my friends in here and not hide it somewhere in outer space. Enjoy your experiences as you wander through these trials of your knowledge and recall.
Its all about Knowledge
We learn a lot as we go through life and most of it sticks in our brain somewhere. Quizzes are a way to exercise our recall and dig deep into the sub-conscious archives that might otherwise not get an airing. Most squids are themeselves very knowledgeable and there is so much to learn from individual lenses written with passion and from the heart.
On my quizzes you will find such lenses featured for you to delve into and enjoy. They supply the answers to most of the questions asked on quiz lenses.
The first lot of quizzes is about Australia, mainly because that's where I come from. There are many good things about this country that people overseas may not know. So take your time and learn as you go.
There are so many social issues one could talk about and I have done a few lenses on them, e.g. bullying, child abuse and so on, By doing a quiz on them they become more entrenched in our minds and the focus on these lenses aims to do just that.
Do You Love Quizzes
How much do you love a quiz?
The Roman Empire
The stories from this era are tremendous and deserve to be put into lenses for squids to enjoy. Taking it a bit further I used a trip to Italy with 2 of my children as a background for several lenses of quiz related information. They are full of the history and origins of many of the things we take for granted while ignoring how history has been distorted and facts changed.
These lenses will fill you in.
It was a Barrel of Laughs
A long time ago when I was a medical student at the University of NSW, I had an idea for a prank on our special day of pranks. It was supposed to be that uni students took over the city and ran things their way. So one or two would dress as judges and run their own courts, for example. Others would be a fake jury and they would select someone from the crowd and charge him and hold a mock trial. Of course, he/she could also be a uni student who would protest like mad and almost cause a riot. The public were expecting these things and would gather around to watch the antics, usually timed during the lunch hour.
But my idea was a bit different. Having previously had great contacts in the advertising industry I also knew some television personalities. At one stage I had been involved in television production and one person I knew rather well was Reg G___. He ran a quiz show on Saturday afternoons which involved spinning a wheel to work out a prize for the questions he asked.
Approching him with my idea turned out rather well. He was about to leave his show and decided that he could do that on the Satuday that we would be holding our pranks. What was involved was me dressing up as a quiz master and, along with some colleagues, we would invade the studio and take over his show, pushing him into the contestant's box. He would then be asked a series of really dumb questions, such as 'what is the difference between a duck'. The answer we proposed is that there is no difference as one leg is both the same. It was pure BBC comedy stuff as in Take it From Here, which was quite a hit at that time.
Borrowing a graduation gown and mortar board and with a painted moustache and other funnies my role was something of a cinch., But two of the guys dressed as characters from a comedy show and reversed the roles, Someone else spun the wheel and another handled the gong. Of course Reg got everything wrong at which point we kidnapped him and drove back to the university.
But on the way we had an accident and that's when things got really funny. Six of us in a small Mini Minor piled out in our dressed up state and tried to explain to a rather intrigued driver of the other car who we really were. There was, of course, this very well known television personality in our midst proving we were not complete loonies. Fortunately there was little damage and we were soon on our way again.
At the Uni. we put Reg in a chair and pretended to shave off his moustache as the press arrived and took pics, It was rather funny news on the day. We were told later that many people rang the television station to complain that we had got the comedy couplen(who did a very well known act) out of order but no one offered the ransom to get Reg back. Of well, he went on to much bigger and better things.
