5 Conversation Thought Provokers

Updated on December 10, 2012

Life is about good conversations...

Conversations are the beginning of things to come and the end of things that used to be, they remember, they forget, they break, they bond, they give and they take.

I don't believe that anyone has nothing to say, everyone has a story that is interesting to someone. Some people just have more difficulty channeling their personality in social situations and can fall victim to being misjudged so quickly.

These conversation starters are designed to get people thinking and most importantly talking!

If you had to forsake one of your senses, which one would it be?

This is a really good question, because when I think about it, eyesight and hearing would be the last two I would foresake, but to lose any sense would be such a great loss. Thinking of what it means to lose my sense of smell, to never smell my mother's cooking again, my husband's smell, or simply to not be able to smell smoke if something is burning - what a huge loss.

If I had to choose it would be the sense of taste - only because the plus side to that would be not enjoying junk food so much! Joking aside, losing any sense would be devastating.

How old would you be if you didn't know how old you were?

This is a great question, because there are so many people in the world who are "young at heart". I feel young at times because I have done so little, yet old at times because I have not done enough.

Would you rather do the right thing or do things right?

I would like to think I prefer to do the right things, because doing things right could mean doing something horrible, but implementing it to perfection.

What advice would you give your 16 year old self?

See the beauty in everything. Use the lessons of every ugly situation and know that they build part of who we are. A life without gratitude is not a life worth living. Never miss an opportunity to learn. You will meet a million different people in your life but you will spend most of your time with your thoughts, so become comfortable with who you are and what is inside your head. Learn to value time, it is your most precious asset.

Would you rather lose all your old memories or never be able to make new ones?

This is such a difficult choice, because you are deciding whether you want to leave behind who you are or who you will become. I would rather lose my old memories because there would be photos and family to remind you to remind me constantly. But to never be able to make new ones would mean being lost in the present with no future.

These are thought provoking questions. I like the question How Old Would You Be ..... In my head most days I'm about 28 but then when I pass by a mirror reality sets in :(

Enjoyed your hub and you've given me lots to think about.
