How Men Think While Planning A Wedding

Updated on July 20, 2014

Men Stress Out Too

Wedding stress effects men too.
Wedding stress effects men too.

Stress?...We have some too.

Most of the time it's the woman in the relationship that gets stressed over the wedding details and time frames. Will the flowers be ready in time? Is my dress the right one? Is the reception decor matching the wedding theme? Is every one going to like the food? Etc, Etc...

From a man's prospective, we sometimes are the one's running errands for the soon to be wife and we get stressed if they get stressed. We try so hard to please you that sometimes your stress can migrate to us. The normal things a man is worried about is, what time is the wedding, which one of my friends will be able to make it as a groomsman and of course, what type of food and drinks will there be at the reception. I admit there are some out there that want every detail to be perfect and are just as into the wedding planning as the bride. We are doing the best we can and keep in mind not to be too hard on us as we are doing everything possible to take some of the burden off the bride to be. We all know this day is the most important day of a bride's life and they all want it to be perfect and this is why there is stress during the planning of a wedding.

Most men and I'm not talking about all, would prefer a simple but traditional wedding, not spending too much money and put more emphasis on the entertainment at the reception than anything else. We men like everyone to have a good time but it's also about our wife to be so we do whatever is needed to make her happy. Many couples will argue a bit during the planning of their wedding and this is perfectly normal as long as you know that you still love each other at the end of the day. Stress over weddings can get the best of some couples and many weddings have been called off because of some disagreements between the bride and the groom. The trick is to not get to overwhelmed with the details and delegate your tasks to family and friends that are willing to help. You'll be surprised at the help you'll get if you allow and trust someone else to do certain tasks.

This is the start of your life together and you want it to be a good start so try and keep in mind that men just want you to be happy and I'm sure you want the same for him. Compromise is a wonderful thing and when it comes right down to it, the wedding is not about whether everything is perfect; it's about the two of you starting your life on the right foot. As long as you've done everything you can up to the point of the wedding most of the details will be just fine in the end.

I think you misunderstood the saying that the details will take care of themselves in the end. All I'm saying is to not worry about the details in the end because if you've done everything you can up to the point when the wedding is about to start everything falls into place. Most weddings I've been to, including my own, the bride was stressed out about the smallest of details and in the end they always worked out. I know this is an important day for the bride and no matter what, they will always be stressed. You being a woman of God should know that a wedding is more than just the decor, food and flowers and for those that are less fortunate are very happy with the most simple and least expensive weddings, yet it means just as much as the person who spends tens of thousands or even more. And you are right about not understanding about giving birth and all we can do is try to comfort and put forth our compassion.

Sorry to tell you that the details wont take of itself. I understand your point of view but men will never understand how important this day is for a woman, it's the same as men will never understand what a woman goes through with a pregnancy and giving birth. I feel your pain bro.
