Advice on How to Get Over a Break Up

I lost the love of my life, well what i thought at the time was the love of my life.

You feel down, like nothing will ever make you smile the same as he did. You just want to stay in bed, hide under the covers for the rest of your life.

Well don't.

I know it's hard, i know you feel like you can't move, you lost your appetite, the will to even get up in the morning, you look at your phone to see no message from them, which makes you sad. You just want to cry.

Then cry, sit in the shower, under the covers in your bed and just cry it out, grieve as much as you need to help you feel better, don't hide away your feeling, buy that big tub of ice cream from the supermarket and just cry. It will help. It's important you show emotion we are all human and showing emotions what makes us one.

Next surround yourself with all your best friends, get them round for a drink, go out to eat, make sure you laugh with them, forget everything that happened and just enjoy yourself, be with them, they are important. This is one of the biggest things that helped me get over mine, my friends knew all about it and they wouldn't leave me alone, always making sure i ate, getting me back to my old self again... That the most important part.

Another thing is taking up a hobby or focusing on the one you have, this will keep your mind off it, i went running which was good for me because every time i thought about him i would put on my trainers and go for a run, sort of like punishing myself for thinking about going back, haha.

If you like to write, buy yourself a diary, i did this, i wrote down everything, every emotion i had that day, and soon enough i was writing happy thoughts about my day.

Now get a friend this one will be hard... DELETE him on everything and i mean everything. Every social media app you have him on and block his number, this will be the hardest because deep down you still like him, you just think 'oh you never know he might try and contact me.' No excuse, if you cant do it get your friend to do it for you. And don't unblock him!!! This will help.

Another thing you can do is sleep, everyone loves sleeping, curl up in your bed and make sure you get a full nights sleep, you deserve that.

It will take time but you will be happy again, you will find someone so much better, you laugh the way you did at the first date and wonder what you was so stressed about, but you will get through it.
