Are You an Alpha Female?

See results

According to the Wikipedia : “ In social animals, the alpha is the individual in the community with the highest rank. Where one male and one female fulfill this role, they are referred to as the alpha pair (the term varies when several females fulfill this role – it is extremely rare among mammals for several males to fulfill this role with one female). Other animals in the same social group may exhibit deference or other symbolic signs of respect particular to their species towards the alpha.

The alpha animals are given preference to be the first to eat and the first to mate; among some species they are the only animals in the pack allowed to mate. Other animals in the community are usually killed or ousted if they violate this rule.

The term "alpha male" is sometimes applied to humans to refer to a man who is powerful through his courage and a competitive, goal-driven, "take charge" attitude. With their bold approach and confidence "alpha males" are often described as charismatic. While "alpha males" are often overachievers and recognized for their leadership qualities, their aggressive tactics and competitiveness can also lead to resentment by others.[1]

The term "alpha female" is sometimes used to refer to females that possess similar traits.”

Since an alpha female possesses similar traits, some of the body language displays will be the same as an alpha male. I am taking some of my body language tips from my other article “Alpha Male Body Language” and using it here. Some of the key body language cues are similar.

An alpha female learns to be alpha through trial, tribulation, and finally, mastery. In some very rare cases, she is born with it. An alpha female has her head on straight, she is independent, and happy. The type of man she will attract is the type that is confident, non-abusive, and loving. She doesn’t pick up just any man on a whim, nor does she need them. If she does choose to pick up a man, he is one that is lucky indeed.

With these tips, you will learn how to display the body language of an alpha female. Don’t worry if you are not completely there, through your actions, your state of mind follows.

eye contact

First, let’s start with eye contact. Don’t freak him out, but make eye contact, let him know you are confident. In making eye contact, you are not only showing him that you are alpha, but you are making a connection.

Keep good posture: In keeping good posture, you are displaying confidence, and health. If you did not have good posture, that would display maybe someone who is a bit older, less confident, or un-healthy. Go ahead and work on that posture!

use space

Don’t be afraid to use space. To use the space around you states that you are an alpha female. You can start by putting the hat in the chair next to yours. Show him that chair belongs to you.

stand right

Stand with your feet shoulder width apart, or more, just try not look like you are trying to do the splits. You get my drift.

Alpha females are cool, calm, and collective. They are happy, and confident. Confident is good, but never become cocky. An alpha female doesn’t lose her cool, and is capable of handling the most difficult of situations.

An alpha female will stand in the middle of a room, and chat with others if she chooses. So, go ahead, and stand in the middle of the room!

Don’t make jerky movements; don’t walk fast as if you are in a hurry. Pace yourself. If you think about someone you know making quick movements, as if they are in a hurry all of the time, it doesn’t seem like it’s an alpha female trait, does it?

don't complain

Don’t complain! An alpha female doesn’t complain about every little detail in their life

keep your head up

Don’t walk with your head down! Keep your head up!

Keep your hands out of your pockets!

Speak at your own pace, and use the right tone of voice. Don’t speak quick, screech, or use gibberish.

Smile, make sure your eyes crinkle, and you show your pearly whites, so it looks genuine. A true flirt smiles naturally but please don’t do it all the time, or you will make them wonder.

Alpha females are intelligent , independent, and happy. They do not have their feathers ruffled to easy, they don’t slander others, and they are comfortable in their own skin. They attract the right type of people into their life, and are generally successful. An alpha female knows how to be confident, not cocky. She expresses what is on her mind, with grace. An alpha female is on the top of her game, and everyone else's. It is hard to fool an alpha female.

She is someone that can handle herself in any given situation, and knows how to mix compassion into her life, without being weak. She is a true leader. A woman of her word. An alpha female will not break under pressure, and because of her psychological strength, she is often the one others go to for advice and support. She doesn't talk in an awful manner about others. An alpha female is wise beyond her years. An alpha female is true to her friends, and true to herself.

She is well mannered,at peace with her life, and very independent. She has pride, and she is happy with herself.

If you know an alpha female, be glad you met her. Alpha females as friends are true. An alpha female has a bond that lasts in thick, and thin. An alpha female will never betray someone that is close to them. Alpha females are rare, strong, graceful ladies.

Great seems like most of the attention gets focused on the alpha male. Thanks for shedding some light on their valuable counterpart, the alpha female.

I remember that one time on my teen age, someone calls me an alpha man. I don't know what it is but i feel so happy. Now i know, Alpha is the kind of person that can make other stand out without doing something special. They are always the center of the topic and they have a confidence to do something even if its embarrassing. They are the most admirable beings.

Two alphas may or may not make a good couple. It would depend on their traits.

Being an Alpha Male, this makes me ask a couple of questions. Do two Alpha's make a good couple? Can you be so much of an Alpha that people are not attracted to you? I only say this because of some of the comments posted raise red flags...

      Thanks bugslady.

Thank you Lisa... A person that acts in a certain way, for a period of time, will start to actually think in the way they are acting. You are correct that an alpha female wouldn't follow tips on how to move, etc., but if a person starts acting this way, and they are not alpha, they will become alpha.

Interesting concept presented here, although I would venture to guess that a true a "Alpha" female would not resort to following someone else's tips on how to move, talk, stand, etc. :)
