Are relationships all about money?

Updated on August 27, 2012

Holidays such as Valentine's Day were all about buying each other gifts. Then when it was just a regular day guys would buy their girlfriends something. In this day and age it is getting out of hand.

The world is getting so greedy that some people make money break or make a relationship. Girls will brag all over Facebook or to their friends what their boyfriends buy them. They may even be in a relationship where all they do is buy each other things.

Other girls get upset if a guy will not spend a lot of money on them. They may even break up with him. The guy could be; caring, loving, funny and loyal and the problem could just be money.

Just because a guy spends does not mean that he knows how to treat a girl. He could spend money but also be cheating or abusing a girl.

I am not saying that it is not nice to get nice things but that should not be what a relationship is all about. Relationships are about spending time with the one you love. It's about valuing what makes you love them such as; how they make you laugh, and they listen to you when you need advice.

If you are in a relationship today and all you do is buy each other things take a break and think it over. Relationships should not be all about money. You should be with someone for who they are and not how much they will spend each other. As wedding vows go "I do for richer or for poorer."

I love this JP... I totally agree with you. Spending money on someone does not necessarily show if the relationship is genuine or not. It's really about the small things and the consideration your loved one gives you. I certainly could care less about money, just that we're happy with or without it. Always a pleasure, JP.
