Ask Alli- A New Service For People With Life's Questions. Yes, I Have a Bachelor's and Master's in the Field

Updated on November 19, 2014

For a little background on me, I am a Marine (though no longer active) but could be redeployed as the military sees fit. I have a Master's degree in Behavioral Medicine, and a degree in Social Psychology focusing on forensic profiling.

I have extensive case work in marriage and family and therapy. I have worked as a therapist, social worker, and direct care provider before. I am working on my dissertation, but I do nor hold any licensure, since when I worked, I worked under my bosses. But remember, my advice is free, and you can toss it if you don't like it

I look forward to questions that you may have, but there are some things you need to know. I have a duty to inform the authorities is you have injured a child, elderly adult, or a handicapped person. Or, if you plan to cause great bodily harm to others. I don't think this one applies to civilians, but if someone plans to tell the enemy secrets, aid the enemy, or sabotage our country's vessels, I also must tell. Ok, now that's over, everything else is fair game.

If you cheat on taxes, do or sell drugs from your parent's basement, have secretly an online started a Kim Kardashian butt's fan club, had an affair with your boss' cousin's best friend, etc. I can't tell, and your secret is safe with me until I dead. I won't tell anyone, not even my husband. I don't now, and have never kept a diary.

I will try to help you the best way I can, and if I can't, I will refer you to another. I am human, and do make mistakes, so if you don't like what I am saying, you can seek someone else, and my feelings will not be offended in the slightest least.

My goal is philanthropic, and even though my advice will not be religious, the reason I am doing this is for religious. While I am not perfect, I will try my 100% best to be non-judgmental. If people knew my deepest secrets, I would be ashamed. So, I find the best thing to do is just keep an open mind, and remember, if we grew-up, or had their living situations and opportunities, we may have very well ended up the same exact way they did.

As a therapist and a case worker, I primarily worked with sex offenders. I have sadly heard everything under the sun. So, whatever your question or comment is, it is likely not the worse thing I have heard. I think for someone to work with sex offenders it takes a calling, and I did not have that calling. The Marine part of me did not work well the sex offenders, so I quit.

Plus, there is nothing worse in the world having a client who has relapsed. So please, start asking me "Dear Alli" questions, but you don't have to say "Dear," because I am honestly interested and want to help... And it's free. You can call me "Alli," "Allison," "Hey You". I will do what I can.

Hi Chuck, sorry it took a little long to answer your question. But here it is! I really hope it helps, please let me know how it goes. If it gets too extreme, call a doctor, 911 if you think suicide might be an option, or I will give you my personal number and I will talk to her if you think it will help.

Thanks for the service Alli, Much appreciated. It looks like you're definitely qualified to offer advice.

      My question is:

I have a very depressed girl at home who is bullied at school and is very depressed. We pulled her out of school (she is online now) and got her on meds and counseling. Any other advice you can give?

Hope you are the next Ann Landers and wishing you luck.

Thanks! Our own Dear Abby and Ann Landers on HubPages! I'll ask a question soon as I can come up with something that's not too outrageous.
