Being The Best Man That I Can

Updated on August 12, 2013

Everyone Makes Mistakes in Life

No one is perfect in life, even though we wish we were. There is no such thing as being absolutely perfect. I only know of one person that is absolutely a perfect man and that is our Lord, our God.

Other than him, sorry to say none of us are perfect, even though some of us beg to differ.

After battling alcohol addiction for so long and now clean and sober, I thought to myself, being the best man that I can will hopefully makeup for some of the wrong I did over the past years.

I took on this new life style by being the best I can in many ways starting off with sticking with my promise I made to myself over one year ago, and that was never to pick up another alcoholic drink again and never tilt that bottle again.

That was first thing I did in being the best man I can, and secondly, to start to live a life of positivity always in everything I do from now on.

Hate Less - Love More

Sometimes a lot of us have that little touch of some sort of hatred in our hearts and that has to stop. By hating less and loving more can have some real positive affects to your inner soul. Hatred is such a harsh word in which I wrote about in a previous hub. Just to be able to love more is so much more refreshing to the heart.  To be able to love more tend to make you a happier person, at least it does for me, so try it and you will see for yourself.

To be the best man I can is going to mean some real life changes and attitude changes as well, in which I have been working on for some time and being more successful each and everyday.

Some things are tough to change in life when you have been so used to living in somewhat a negative world and a world of addictions that you chose to live in, but there is always room for change and always room for advancement in any ones life.

How Can I Be the Best

To be the best man I can, I have figured out what must be done and that is just to be myself and to improve on the things that I lacked in over the years of being addicted to alcohol.

When you really think about trying to be the best at anything, you wonder how it can be done. We ask our self many questions in regards to being a better person and being the best you can at what you do and who you are.

If you really think and look long and hard at the life you now lead, you can pretty much figure out your weak points and you good points. As far as your weak points, all you have to do is to concentrate on those weak points and work to improve them. That's what I have been doing and it is working out just fine. So try working on those weak points. You have nothing to lose and so much to gain when you have achieved your goals and now showing that you can be the best you can with a little work on your part..

Life is so precious and we need to start enjoying it and trying to be a better person and be the best you can while here on earth. You have to make the best of your life and be the better person.

The ways I have found to be the best I can since being sober and loving life more than ever is that I had to, so they say, "Lighten Up." Stop walking around being so high strung and stressed out because that stress will indeed kill you in the end. Start to learn to relax and enjoy your life and work on your weaknesses.

MY THOUGHTS OF HOW I CAN BE THE BEST MAN I CAN:

  • Hate less and love more.
  • Live each day as if it was your last.
  • Think of positive thoughts each and everyday.
  • Take the word Negativity out of my vocabulary.
  • Smile more often and make it a point to do so.
  • Give compliments to those that deserve them.
  • Stick to my promise to myself to never drink alcohol again.
  • Try to help other in their journey to become clean and sober.
  • Continue to write about Alcohol Addiction, Happiness and Fulfillment in ones life.
  • Change my outlook in life and just be the best man I can..
