Being the new girl

Updated on September 11, 2012

It's your second year at college and you are moving in. You have two other roomates, the only thing they know each other. They are best friends and you feel like an outsider.

It may be hard but first of all be yourself. Don't go along with whatever they say or copy their behavior if it is not you. If someone does not like you, they will never like you.

Be friendly to them and try to be confident. Show them all of the amazing qualities you have and if they do not like you at least you have other friends.

The way they are close you could have other friends. Be civilized in the dorm and try to make an effort but don't force anything.

It may be awkward being the new girl but just reamin confident. Be prepared that they will stay by each others side and don't suck up to them. Give compliments but don't give a lot if you are not getting a lot back. Be thankful for the friends that you do have.

Don't assume because they are best friends they will not include you when they know you better.

Always be yourself, kind and friendly, but also spend time with your friends and just enjoy school. These are the best years of your life, be outgoing and smile---and you night find people smiling back.

You never should feel the need to impress others. Fill your life with learning. After all who will benefit from all the knowledge you obtain.

      Good Luck,

      Your Hub Friend,
