The Best Love Songs For Fellas To Woo Their Women

Updated on December 7, 2012

Since I have been on HubPages, I have searched for certain topics and done some Hub Hopping, I have, in these travels also come across and seen some 'romantic' based hubs and thought......hang on, all these love song dedications are coming from the gals, wheres the romantic hubs from us guys, from us fella's???? We can woo you, we can be romantic, we can be that John Cusack's character standing outside your window in the rain, declaring our love (sorry, not me, I'll stand outside your window, but I will do diddly squat when its raining honey), from the movie ...Say Anything...

So, without further ado, here is the FELLAS point of view of those songs we like to play to set the 'mood', to be romantic, ya know, the ones that we believe impresses you gals. Fellas, get these songs if your just recently dating a new person, or if you have been with someone for a while, just might be the good reminder to gather her gently and whisper in her ear 'remember this song....' and give her a slow dance.

Genesis - Follow You Follow Me

Great song from the English group Genesis. A song about love that is relatively new. Its rather a surprise this one is not played more often at weddings.

Peter Gabriel - In Your Eyes

Great song from another Englishman, funny enough also happens to be the former lead singer of Genesis. A awesome song, one about how a man feels about his sweatheart, even when they have been fighting.

Sting - My One & Only Love

The best version of this song about love, par excellence. This song with original music written by Guy Wood and lyrics by Robert Mellin. This particular version sung by Sting, for the movie 'Leaving Las Vegas'

U2 - All I Want Is You

Just simply a bloody beautiful song about unobtainable love.

Barry White - Never Gonna Give You Up

Love him or hate him, this singer has been getting us fellas 'in' with the ladies for ages. World's best baritone voice, loved and often parodied, this man is in all peoples love song collections. Dang, this song about wanting to stick by your woman, not matter what, but the way it is sung, just makes you wanna get all sexy and schtuff, with the lady friend......

Marvin Gaye - I Want You

The silky smooth vocals of Marvin Gaye. This version of the song is a practice session for one of his concerts when on tour, but I feel is a great version of the song. A song about someone deeply in love with someone, but that someone isn't returning that love or feels you same way about you.

Robert Palmer - She Makes My Day

Very well known for 2 other songs, this one is a great one as Mr Palmer was also an excellent crooner. A song about a guy who is at that apex of his feelings about the woman he loves, so they are probably at about the 4th or 5th date and still like each other, lol.

Lisa Stansfield - Change

Another beautiful and soulful singer, geez I reckon this gal could sing jingles and make em sound sexy. This song about a gal letting her guy know that even though they have been fighting, she still loves him no matter what, and wont change, otherwise she wouldn't love him the way she does.

Frankie Goes To Hollywood - The Power Of Love

Not to be confused with any other version of a song with the same title. Just a sheer brilliant written and recorded music number about love.

Level on the personal favorite meter 12/10

Phil Collins - One More Night

Ahhhhhhh, Phil Collins showing us what it can get like when a relationship is on its winding way down. A song about a love being on the rocks and on the cusp, it may head one direction, or another.

Air Supply - Lost In Love

If Love & Devotion were Immortals and had children, their offspring would be these guys - Air Supply. Oh and they are also Australian, if you didn't already know that. Beautiful song this one, re-recorded as an acoustic version in 2005 and performed with a slower tempo. Don't know why I have included it here, but I recall hearing the original when released in 1980 and have remembered it ever since.

George Michael - Careless Whisper - Cover Version by Seether

Liked the song, like the lyrics,  yet I am not a big fan of G Micheal. But, came across this version of the song by Seether and much more prefer the darker, grittier version of this.

Van Morrison - Moondance

Really great feel good song this one. I believe it is also one of the most covered songs on the planet. If it is not surprised by that. Great song to toe tap to, or get up and swing those hips on the dance floor.

    Hey Shari,

One of the hardest to choose is a top ten, even harder and more difficult with not only missing out on Michael Buble, but also Harry Connick Jr, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Elvis Costello, Elvis, Tony Bennett and Freddy Mercury. Yes believe it or not, there are definitely some Barry White protractors out there!

Yes, I remember being quite young when Moondance was released as a single in 1977 and its stuck with me ever since :)

You hit the ball out of the ball park with this Hub KJ. Love all your choices. Just wondering thought, it possible though that someone could actually 'hate' any Barry White song? He defined love songs in my book!

As I was going along which took some time as I had to stop and listen to each song, I kept thinking that next up would be Michael Buble! Not sure why but it just feels like he would fit perfectly in this mix. . ..

Lastly, I like that you saved Van Morrison for last , Moondance has to be one of my all time favorite songs ever!!

    Thumbs up my friend :)
