Party Favors

If there is one thing that people look forward to when it comes to the big day, its the party favors that everyone leaves with at the end of the night. It isn't just the fact that most couples hand out treats but its also the fact that its a memento of their big day. If you want to have a classy wedding but still do not want to spend a ton of cash, there are some ways for you to save the dough while still maintaining class. When it comes to party favors, here are a few things you can do to help save some cash.

Ebay works great for those of you who want to splurge and have some classy favors. You can find favors cheap on Ebay if you look around. You also need to know that you need to word the search terms in ass many different ways as you can in order to see a big selection of items. With Ebay you can search around and find the items cheaply while having nice favors. You will want to plan ahead of time to allow for some international shipping if you plan on ordering from another country.

Everyone and their momma has a Pinterest account. Everyone on Facebook has it and links their feed to their accounts. It helps to know someone who is crafty and can come up with a new way to do party favors. You can purchase many of your supplies for most party favors from the dollar store or other cheap stores and make the favors to your liking. If you want to go the extra mile, splurge a little on the favors that go inside but save on the presentation.

If you have heard of Etsy, you most likely know that it is a site where people sell their crafts and hobbies. If you have not heard of Etsy, take a look at the site and see what types of things they have to offer their customers. Some of their stuff can be pricey but you can purchase stencils and water bottle labels to candy wrapper labels and more. If you have your own printer, you can print your own labels at home but simply pay for the image and style to be downloaded and then printed.

Check out these different places to see if there is something at any of them that you like and want to use for your big day.

The general rule of thumb is when planning your wedding, leave enough room for people to plan in order to make arrangements for the date. If you have people coming from out of town to your wedding, you want to allow them enough time to save money and make travel arrangements for the big day. With that in mind, you want to have classy invitations but do not want to pay a large amount of money to someone to print them when you can simply do it from home. Here are a few things you can do to have nice invitations without the cost associated with the printing of invitations from major companies.

Once again, this site offers a number of places to order the stencil from for your invitations. You can purchase the stencil or the image and then add it to your invitation to be printed. If you have your invitation that is presized, ask the person designing your invitation to make it a site size to ensure that it will fit on the paper you have.

Once again Ebay has a number of people who specialize in making invitations. They will sell you the image or the background for the invitation which you will then add to your invitation and simply print it. Once you have selected the right image and want to add it to the invitation, print up a practice sheet to make sure it lines up properly and is going to fit on the desired invitation template.

The craft store sells a number of different invitation kits for you to select from. You can go in and look around for clearance deals as well and save even more money. The invitation kits usually come with 25 blank invitations with different design patterns to choose from. You will be able to print as many invitations as you want by purchasing more kits.

Hobby Lobby:

This craft store is another great way to shop and save money. You can go in during different types of the year for a massive clearance sale which will help you to save a ton of money on all items needed for the wedding. If you find the clearance deals at the right time, you can purchase the invitation kits for as little as 7 dollars.

As you can see, there is an abundance of ways for you to have nice invitations without the cost associated with ordering invitations online or from your local bridal store.

Wedding Gowns

When it comes to purchasing wedding gowns, this is where a lot of your budget gets spent. Most women want to make sure that they look spectacular on their big day and will spend a lot of money on their dress. You can look nice on your big day without the added hassle of spending mega bucks for your dress. Here are a few places to look for your wedding gown.

Be careful when shopping on Craigslist. You can spend just a little bit of money on a wedding dress but carefully look at it before you spend the money. Also try to see if you can try the dress on. If the dress needs to be taken in a little, this can be easily achieved by using a local seamstress however if it needs to be let out, this might not be as easy to do. Shop around before fully deciding on what dress you want to wear.

Davids Bridal:

During the year, the store will hold a sale where gowns are only 99 dollars. I personally shopped during this sale and caught a really nice dress for only 100 dollars. It fit nicely and looks good on me and I only spent 100 bucks. If you do not catch their sale but still like a dress, visit their local store as many stores have clearance deals instore and they allow for some wiggle room on the price.

Rent a Gown:

There are plenty of different stores who offer the rental of the wedding gown and therefore you could have a designer dress and not have to worry about the cost of the gown. If you want to rent a gown, make sure you get fitted well in advance and of course make sure that the gown you want is available on the day that you have chosen.

There are a number of people who will sell gowns on Ebay for really cheap prices. You can purchase a really nice knock off from a designer dress on Ebay for really cheap. The knock off is not the actual copy of a dress which is intended to look exactly like the real designer but is similar in style as the dress you like which costs thousands of dollars. Make sure you have been professionally measured though to make sure that the dress will fit when it arrives and also make sure that you let them know what size it is in the country you reside in as a European size is not the same size as an American size.

When it comes to the decorations for your big day, there is a number of ways that you can save money while having the look of spending a ton of money. If you want to save on the big day, the cost of saving on the decorations will help you to splurge in other areas. One of the other areas that you want to have money to spend on is the food budget. You can use the money that you saved on the decorations to be added to the food budget. Here are some things that you can do to save money on the decorations.

Shop cheaply at local stores who offer cheap items. The items that you will be spending money on will only be used for this occasion and therefore should only cost you a little bit of money. If you want to use the items for other events following the wedding then go ahead and spend a little bit more but if its only for this day, cut back and save the money.

Look for DIY kits for wedding decorations. A number of stores sell kits for you to use to make your own tissue paper pompoms. You can also purchase plain tissue paper and create your own pompoms without the kit. Also, the use of candles is used a lot for weddings and therefore you want to purchase your candles in bulk. The tea light candles can be found in packages of 50 at your local Wal-Mart or craft store but know that they will burn out quickly therefore you will want to keep extras laying around if you are actually burning the candles.

If you are wanting to rent a space for your venue, then you want to plan as far ahead as you can. You want to make sure that the space you want is available and therefore the minute you have been proposed to and have set a date, you want to make sure that you call around to ask if the places are available for renting. If not, don't worry, you can always be placed on a waiting list.

Look to your own backyard. If you have a spacious backyard and want to have a nice ceremony but do not want to rent a space for the reception, turn to your backyard and see what you can come up with. If you have hired a party planner or wedding planner then you can ask them to incorporate your ceremony and reception into one area.

Turn to your local park pavilion for a cookout wedding. If you have a group of friends who love the outdoors and you yourself are someone who loves to be outside, then your local park pavilion is one way to host a wedding reception. You can hire a caterer if you want or you can hire a BBQ company to host the wedding reception and allow them to handle all the dishing out of the food as well as the cleanup following the reception.

When it comes to the people that you want to invite, you might think that you have to invite the whole family but really you don't have to. Choose the people who are the closest to you and invite them. If you forget about your great-great cousin, well they are not considered your immediate family and therefore should not feel bad if they are left out of the big day.

Talk with your future husband and ask him how many people you guys want to have at your wedding. If you both agree to only invite 30 people from each side with a total of 60 guests, make sure that the people you are inviting are the people who mean the most to you. If you want to have more people at the reception than you do at the ceremony, let people know that its just an intimate ceremony and if they want to still see it, that you will have video available for them to view after the event. You can have someone film the event and then download and broadcast from the reception therefore allowing everyone to still see the actual ceremony.

As you can see, there are plenty of things you can do to help make your day a special one without spending a ton of cash. If you are planning on people bringing gifts to the wedding and you would rather that you get cash, simply allow people to know "Hey we have enough household stuff already, please bring cash". This will allow people to not spend money on a gift that you will either feel obligated to keep and not use or spend time returning items. Make sure that you keep the tags from the gifts on each gift so that you can send out thank you cards later.
