Chocolate Brown & Tiffany Blue Wedding Ideas
Alicia & Steven's Wedding
One of the hottest color schemes for weddings is a combination of chocolate brown with Tiffany blue. Blue and brown compliment each other perfectly and this color combo yields an elegant and upscale feel with the rich deep earth tone that the brown provides. The Tiffany blue color can just as easily be replaced with other similar blue hues such as turquoise, aqua, and even a light blue.
The popularity of this color combination means that dresses, accessories and other wedding necessities are readily available for purchase either locally or online. In this hub, I will provide photos and resources for some of my favorite chocolate brown and Tiffany blue wedding supplies.
Don't forget to leave you comments about this hub or your own brown and blue wedding tips in the comment section at the bottom of this hub. I'd love to hear from you!

Chocolate Brown & Tiffany Blue Inspiration Board
When planning a wedding, I always like to get a feel for the bride's likes and dislikes. I encourage all brides to put together an inspiration board or a collection of magazine photos that wedding planners can use to achieve the style that the bride wants on her big day. Many online websites and blogs have created inspiration boards in just about every color palette imaginable.
The above chocolate brown and Tiffany blue board was taken from Here Comes The Blog. It features a montage of photos that includes all aspects of the wedding - the cake, wedding gown and bridesmaid dresses, invitations, flowers, reception tables, wedding favors and more. The idea behind a board is not to choose all of your items up front, but to instead put together a collection of images that you find appealing. It will help you and your wedding planner (if you have one) narrow down the choices when it comes to decision time for each item. I highly recommend that you poke around online and in bridal magazines and then print or cut out anything that catches your eye. Believe me, when it comes to crunch decision time, you'll be happy you did!

Chocolate & Blue Invitations
Wedding invitations are the perfect time to introduce your color scheme and style to your guests. If you plan to go traditional at your wedding, the invitations should reflect that...perhaps go with script fonts or monogrammed invites. For the more whimsical bride, polka dot invitations or a fun font would be appropriate. In either case, I suggest that you carry the fonts and colors through to the rest of the wedding stationery such as the wedding programs, thank you notes, etc.
If you are looking to save a bit of money, do it yourself invitation kits might be the answer. They have been growing in popularity and look quite professional if you follow the kit instructions and print on a laser printer (rather than an ink jet). Amazon has a great selection of both professionally printed and do-it-yourself blue and brown wedding invitations.
Chocolate & Blue Bridesmaid Dresses
Choosing the perfect wedding gown and bridesmaid dresses can be a challenge. That said, many gown and dress designers are now offering great selections that incorporate earthy brown and lovely blue tones that will fit into the chocolate brown and blue wedding color scheme perfectly. As you can see in the above montage of photos (also taken from Here Comes The Blog), the variation in shades of blue and brown can vary dramatically from one dress designer to the next. If you have a particular shade of blue in mind, I highly advise that you get color and fabric swatches prior to ordering any bridesmaid dress (and any other accessory for that matter). One designer's "Tiffany blue" can vary greatly from the next designer's "Tiffany Blue". So please heed my advice on this subject (even if you do nothing else).
If you are a daring bride that wants to add a little pizazz to the wedding gown, consider choosing one that has a Tiffany blue sash or a splash of blue on the train of the gown. As you can see in the above photo, you can even get flower girl dresses that have a similar design.
As for the bridesmaid dresses, I prefer a strapless or halter A-line design. This style is flattering on just about every body type. It is unlikely that all your bridesmaids will be the same size or height. Therefore, choosing a shape that flatters every body type will ensure that all the bridesmaids will be happy on your big day.

Chocolate Brown & Blue Wedding Accessories
Whether you decide on turquoise or aqua or Tiffany blue, you should be able to find reception and ceremony accessories that will coordinate with the rest of your wedding selections. Many companies offer custom ribbon color accessories such as ring bearer pillows, unity candles, flower girl baskets, garters, and guest books where you simply choose a ribbon color (or two) and they custom make your accessories with those particular colors.
In addition, you can find wedding accessory collections like the one shown in the photo to the right which come as a fully coordinated set....it takes all the guesswork out of mixing and matching your accessories from one vendor to the next. Shop around online and you might just find the perfect color for your wedding. You'll save money and time!
Chocolate Brown & Tiffany Blue Favor Ideas
Whatever your shade of blue, you should be able to find wedding favors that coordinate with your color scheme perfectly. At this junction, I am again going to stress the importance of getting samples from any wedding favor or accessory vendor that you choose to work with. As I mentioned, the shades of blue (turquoise, aqua, Tiffany, light) vary from vendor to vendor so my motto is "better safe than sorry". That said, there are some great choices out there including the wide range of favors shown in the above photo.
Personally, I love the idea of buying simple blue or chocolate favor boxes and then embellishing them with whatever you want to tie in with the theme of your wedding. For instance if you are having a beach themed wedding, then buying treasure chest-shaped, blue favor boxes that you embellish with tiny shells and brown ribbon along with a personalized thank you hang tag is a great choice. I love that you can fill favor boxes with special trinkets or your favorite candies. The key is to let your style and peronality show through in your favor selection!
Chocolate Brown & Blue Wedding Cake Ideas
When it comes to the wedding cake for your chocolate brown and Tiffany blue (or aqua or turquoise) wedding, the options are endless. As you can see in the above photo collage (courtesy of DessertLover's chocolate and brown cakes at Flickr), cakes can be designed in various shapes, sizes and motifs. If you want a whimsical touch at your wedding, consider using retro-style polka dots or stripes. For a modern look, consider geometric patterns or asymmetric designs. But if you are a traditionalist, go for scroll work patterns, ribbon, vines or a simple silver broach like the one shown in the 3rd photo in the top row.
Choosing a great cake is the perfect ending to the perfect day and I hope that you find these cakes inspirational. If so, print out the photo and take it with to your cake designer. That way, you'll get exactly what you want on your special day.
