Dance Me To The End Of Love!
Is there something wrong with sex or love? No, there is not, if sex is from love! I don't know of another song that expresses the meaning of sex and love in its lyrics, music and within the singer's voice and attitude, like the song titled, as is this hub.
I have seen videos after videos; in despite of quality, this song is so outstanding that nothing will make it fade when sung by Leonard Norman Cohen (1934). He is a singer song-writer, musician, poet and novelist. I have used it in some hubs as an extra, but with this hub I want to give emphasis to its lyrics.
The lyrics move us to flow by dancing the action of love. It is not about sex, but about love. Love is the action for humanity.
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
"Dance me to the end of love"
Leonard Cohen sang this song for the first time in 1984. It has been inspiration for many authors of diverse artistic media.
- First of all, the song was inspired by the mass murder of almost 6 million Jews, Gypsies, and everybody else that would fit under the discriminatory term of "racial inferiority" by the German Nazi regime during the Second World War, known as "The Holocaust".
- A movie was inspired and is titled under: Dance me to the End of Love.
- The Scottish artist Jack Vetrianno known as "The People's Painter" paints listening to Leonard Cohen's songs.
- To celebrate life, an Art & Poetry book titled "Dance Me to The End of Love" was formed by Henry Matisse, Linda Sunshine, Leonard Cohen, Henri Matisse.
The deepness in the verses
I love Leonard's voice. He has a long life experience and in this song his passion for life was poured. This is not another song sung by many other singers and used in many movies. I will explain how these verses captured my feelings using the lyrics with some Clip-Art
Dance me to your beauty with the burning violin
Germans had the Jewish String Quartet play violin while they were murdering and burning bodies. How lovely the dance by the melody of a focused person! To dance is not only movements of a body, it is to swing harmonically with another dancer following the rhythm of the musician.
While the pain was being felt of seeing their own family, friends and neighbors being killed, the Germans were dancing the victims with the passion of life until the end of their lives. To live is to love, and love must be tough, by all means. That is why it is until the end of love. The players also were going to be cremated, so that was the last music they were going to play.
How miserable is the soul of a person that hurts other people. Perhaps the Germans thought that they were killing the Spirit of the Jews by doing so. They did not understand that good people are in peace with themselves. Good people are those holding others who are in panic until the struggle is over. As they were being lifted by the music of the violin, they were returning home as it is written in Ecclesiastes 12:7:
"Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it."
*Be my homeward dove* A dove is an migratory bird. How wise was Leonard by using this bird. A dove was presented when the Holy Spirit descended like one as read in Luke 3:22:
"and the Holy Spirit descended upon Him in bodily form like a dove, and a voice came out of heaven, "You are My beloved Son, in You I am well-pleased."
Let me see your beauty when the witnesses are gone
When we are with other people around, we are usually fixed up. We care for clothing, hairdos and we want to represent the best. We cover our true natural being. Seeing the beauty when the witnesses are gone is taking away all the make up and being transparent. It is to be yourself, who you really are without pretending. There is a big difference between being a hypocrite and being modest, or discrete. With people around we have to hide some things of ourselves and that is alright. Perhaps some will stumble with some kind of our own "stuff". Besides we don't have to give all our pearls.
Our pearls are given to those that deserve them. Those that value them. Lovers give themselves in a confidential manner where witnesses are not present. Dignity and moral values within us, whisper that it is an intimate moment when we may show our beauty. More than all our beauty is not that gain from a hairdresser or an exotic clothing. Real beauty raises from the inside out.
Can you imagine the pain felt in the "Holocaust"? Have you ever passed through something similar and yet were able to dance until the end of love?
"A joyful heart makes a cheerful face, But when the heart is sad, the spirit is broken."
Dance me to the wedding now
God blessed them, saying, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth."
Children are the result of the dance of love between a couple; like the children that were left orphans from the Holocaust. A tent of shelter to protect the Holocaust survivor was raised, but still more unborn children must be reached and protected. Abortion is a "Hitler" disguised on back of unreasonable excuses.
Oh, how much pain flourishes as I write these words. How can feelings be posted in letters, that may create awareness? How can words such as the the lyrics of "Dance me to the end of love" may dance the reader or listener through the curtains of real love.
Christ was betrayed with a kiss and His muscle threads torn as His whole body was...for love. There are evil kisses, but there are holy kisses. Let's love one another to the end of love. Let's stop hurting each other. Let's forgive one another. Let's live by the freedom that love provides. Let's be without bitterness.
Let's dance in the midst of our struggles!
Let's dance to a better future for the children asking to be born!
When a couple loves each other, they will want to dance until the end. They will commit themselves to each other in marriage. They want to be separated for each one; and share responsibilities in a legal manner. The way they celebrate this event of love is by a wedding. A wedding is a personal event of the couple.
Couples will have moments of diverse struggles. They will pass by the wave of love sometimes beneath, so low that they will feel their marriage is drowning and other times above that they may feel they are flying from ecstasy; or just by the simple action of being together...dancing each day along their love. A real love is about lovingness when we are above existence with young characteristics, as well as beneath those with aging characteristics. Time leads to aging and aging to death. Love can not end before we end our days living on Earth.
The Holocaust was about death, they knew they were going to die. The music was leading their Spirit tenderly as they danced the path of an undeserved and horrible incinerated death.
"Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her,"
