THE SEVEN SIGNS OF VIRTUE AND EVERLASTING FRIENDSHIP

Updated on January 06, 2012

'A friend is someone who reaches out for your hand... and touches your heart'

Honesty it the truth that counts,

For lies, make crooked minds,

For relationships with honesty,

Are the most rewarding kind.

Listening is a precious gift,

To let the troubled talk,

For endless, selfish chaffer,

Is a one-man way to walk?

Compassion is a beacon,

To those whose lives are bleak,

It is a genuine sense of caring,

A softer way to speak.

Giving is a virtue,

For which is onward going,

A desire to inspire,

A thoughtful way of showing.

A humbleness of spirit,

Will spare a man his life,

It will make a man say sorry,

When he has caused such strife.

Tenderness is fetching,

A concern for others thoughts,

For trust takes time and effort,

It never can be bought.

Respect for others values,

Their morals, thoughts and plans,

To raise up understanding,

Of every precious man.

When these seven virtues speak,

A friendship lasts forever,

Two closely knitted hearts,

Will always stay together.

sorry i read one of your comments...no. 7 according to the Old Testament...is the number of completion and beauty and perfection. It is the day God rested after creating the earth. It is the number of menorahs (each with 7 candelabras) that are in the jewish temple. There are many more 7 numbers. Numbers in the old testament are full of meaning...it is fascinating.

Such wonderful points. Deb, you are so sweet. I kind of think that honesty is the main attraction. Honesty lends itself to compassion, virtue, and all the rest. It means so much.

This is a very bright hearted peace, no saddness or masked art thru humor. Very genuine. Nice to have the subtle touch of the flowers and fauna to accent the mood. It is effective, even down to the bold face of the text makes you pause and concentrate when you first look at the page. You could probably expand just these seven ideas into a longer form. I give it an A++ on your Report Card!

Aww thanks blake it is great to get a great feed-back. Makes writing all the worth-while. Great idea about expanding too. Looking back at some of my older hubs they could do with a little editing lol. You want to be my male secretary haha. :)
