Fall Wedding Cake

Updated on October 19, 2010

Incorporating Fall into your wedding theme

The essence of Fall season, inhaling the scent from a wood burning fireplace. Deep colors of red, orange and brown leaves falling from trees. Thoughts of the holiday season, pumpkins and all the comforts that come with the Autumn, Fall season. We are going to use elements from Autumn and Fall, and incorporate it into designing your Fall wedding cake. You can start with the overall color of your wedding cake, without any designs or decorations added to it yet. A solid base color of terracotta, brown, red, etc. We will use terracotta as an example.

To save yourself a few dollars, you can order your fall wedding cake plain, without any details or decorations. You will buy or make the fall decorations, and add them to your wedding cake. You can choose fall flowers that match your wedding color scheme and add them to your wedding cake. Another option is to add edible wedding cake decorations such as acorns, figs, twigs, or small pumpkins made from fondant or modeling chocolate.

Ideas: red velvet wedding cake, pumpkin spice with cream cheese, apple and cinnamon, chocolate ganache, caramel pecan
