Fallen Friendship

Updated on July 6, 2013

Pictures and letters. Broken hearts and torn papers. Memories remain.

The bright laughter of the sunlight
Turns into a cold, moonless night
Chill run down my spines
As I gaze on the endless skyline.

"Save your tears 'cause I'll come back"
I heard you say to me
I wanna shout and bid you goodbye
But this heart of mine can only cry.

The days turn to weeks
Weeks turn to months
And months turn to years
But your shadow isn't near.

Friendship promises sometimes break
Alone in the world I stray
For another friendship I make
Till I found another soul to stay.

Beautiful poem...who among us has not felt the pain of a broken promise and the hope of a better friendship on the horizon. Rated up and beautiful.

I have lost a few good friendships over the years, ones that I valued but could not amend. Your poem brings this to mind and helps to make it understandable.

Interesting poem, after reading one of the comments I will say true friendship isn't found it finds you. I believe that over the years friendships meaning and purpose has been diluted and has gotten watered down. The individuals that you need in your life will be brought to you......compliments of #friendship

This is a all to common feeling. After establishing such strong ties, the feeling of just losing friends hoping that they come back one day is one of the worst feeling. Great work on the poem, i hope who ever you are waiting for comes back to you.
