Gay Pride Manchester 2010
I went to Manchester for gay pride, I got the option to march too through the centre of the city, I always wanted to do this to stand up for LGBT and some how I found the confidence to do it.
I could not believe the amount of support that came from the thousands of people who lined the streets and applauded us even children waved with their parents, I was so overwhelmed I cried as I marched with my friends.
I loved every minute of marching holding the banner "Enough Is Enough" and shouting it with the thousands of others who marched with us. Leading the prode march was my idol Sir Ian Mc Kellan.
If you are thinking of going to a pride trust me go to one it is amazing, we had a lot of religious groups march along side of us too which meant an awful lot to us all, showing that not all have closed their doors and judged us.
There were a lot of other groups who marched with us, far too many to name but it was the best day of my life and it showed that when we all stand together against persecution and against Hate what we can achieve.
The weather was brilliant and the whole weekend was so overwhelming I want to do it again and am definitely going to next year. We stood up for our right to be who we are and to live in freedom, it was my first ever gay pride and wont be my last.
I hope that you all do go to one and see the support that people do give but remember you don't have to be LGBT to support our rights but by going to one your making a difference to the future.
