Have Some "Me Time"
I've always said that it's always great to spend quality time with your partner. However, if you're in a serious relationship, having some time to yourself can be healthy. With this alone time you can:
- Clear your mind. The beach, park, even a lounge are some great places to go to think about things- and ultimately clear your mind without being disturbed.
- Relax. One way to relax is to do meditation. You don't have to sit cross-legged style to do this. Just wear some comfortable clothing, find a quiet place to go, and set aside at least 10 minutes of your day to do it. Some other things you can consider is playing with your pets (if you have any), reading your favorite type of book, or listening to your favorite music. Do the things that you enjoy- and you know will put you in a calm state of mind.
When you get back to your partner, you will have a renewed sense of feeling, and he/she will pick up on it almost immediately. These tips also work well if you recently had an argument with your partner. So implement them whenever you feel it's necessary.
