Trends and Color

More and more couples are opting for non-traditional wedding venues and settings. This has open the possibilities and imagination of wedding designers to utilize spaces that in the past, wouldn't have been considered suitable for such event.

For example more industrial type of spaces, bare walls and mixing classical elements with a lot of metallic elements are what we are seeing in 2017. Brick walls adorned with greenery and organic elements that flow with a pop gold, silver and crystal; combine nature and industrial design.

As far as color goes, classic pastels still dominate the scene. Specially since lace and other old world fabrics dominate the runways for the 2016, 2017 wedding gowns.

Is the perfect time for the Shabby chic bride and, thanks to the ever growing popularity of destination weddings, Boho look.

Flower Arrangements and Greenery

We all know that flowers are and probably always a staple in most weddings. Either organic or silk they bring a delicate breath of life to the event. This year the background color and "filler" is taking center stage as it brings an air of nature and organic flow not only to the decor but also to the classic wedding bouquet.

Instead of walls of roses and flowers adorning the venues, 2017 brides are choosing a more earthy green alternative. Garlands of assorted flowers are also highly requested in contrast with either mismatched centerpieces of 3 or beautiful tall glass trumpet vases that of course showcase beautiful peonies, garden roses, ranunculus, dahlias and other “soft-petal” blooms.

Of course, you decide what is going to be the theme of your wedding, but lets be honest, these ideas are breathtaking.

Menu And Desert Table

It doesn't matter if you have fifty guests or two hundred guests, the biggest piece of the budget will go the catering.

In 2016-17 full course meals have taken a back seat to a more fun and diverse alternative. I have to admit, the beef of chicken option was getting old. Now we can choose a more colorful, cost effective even alternatives.

This year pride in our roots is taking the wedding menus by storm. It's the best way to represent the couple and their culture through their favorite cultural dishes and desserts. This can be so fun and absolutely delicious!

That also translates to the bar too! Fun drinks can be the perfect compliment to your reception if that is what you want. Incorporating decor and your choice of drinks , is easy to have a unique bar that will complement the overall theme.

A desert table is what sweet dreams are made of. Aside from the cake, this is where we can actually find more about the personality of the couple.

Even though this is not a requirement, it looks so yummy! Besides, if you are not in good terms with sugar, there is always vegetarian options available. So go nuts!

It's All About The Cake!

The wedding cake can be as unique as the wedding dress itself. 2017-2018 trends bring metallic and marble designs that combine modern and classic styles for a stunning effect.

Needless to say, when choosing your wedding cake feel free to keep it as simple or as intricate as you want. Next to the bride, the cake has it's own place in the reception. Remember it will set the tone for the decor and the pictures.

Big or small it has to be what you envision for your big day.

To choose the right entertainment for the big day is a matter of convenience , venue and ultimately your own ideal of fun. hiring a band , a DJ or other type of entertainment is entirely up to you and your budget. Now, it's more and more common to mix the two and even add other forms of entertainment like comedians and lookalikes.

I think it's your party, so you decide!

Mixing old and new trends

The more you look around the more overwhelmed you may get with ideas and beautiful concepts. Is important to remember that the classics never fail. And if you want your princess moment, now is the time to make it happen! Happy Planning!
