Updated on September 26, 2013

So, you want to learn how to make a wedding car ribbon - right? Your wedding car is an integral part of your wedding, so you need to be extra careful for in order to decorate it. The main part is however, making a ribbon for your wedding car. If you do not know how to make it, read on to find out.

Materials required to create a wedding car ribbon

The process of making a wedding car ribbon is very simple. All you need to do is fold a ribbon and make it in a bow. But the correct way to fold the ribbon makes all the difference. Things required in making a wedding car bow:

  • A ribbon of any color choice
  • Scissors
  • Twist tie

The Wedding Theme

Obviously, you want to have a bow that matches your wedding theme. For this, you'll need matching colors. If you are planning on having a beach wedding, for example - you could always add seashells to the flower bouquet which will be placed on the car, between a couple of bows. This will look absolutely beautiful!

Otherwise, you can have it different from your theme. Your husband may want to have lovely blue ribbons strewn around the car while you opt for white flowers which will bring out the blue color. Discuss the ideas you have before trying to pull this off.

Process of making the bow

First of all you need to fold the ribbon in order to make a loop of about 8.5 inches long. After that you need to hold the loop in place with one hand and then wind the ribbon with the other hand till you have completed 18 to 20 turns. Now fold the loop of the ribbon and cut a V shape out of it. But be careful not to cut the whole ribbon into two different parts.

Now you can open the ribbon just like you open a book and you will have two wide V shapes. After that take the twist tie and tie around the place between the two V shapes. Now the tie will keep the ribbon in place. After that pull out the first loop from the tie and puff it out. It will move towards you. On the other hand, pull out another loop and puff it in a way so that it moves away from you. The bow is now complete. All you need to do is attach it to the bonnet of your car. You can use the leftover ribbons to create a tail.

How to install the bow

Once you have completed making the bow, open one door of your car and take some additional ribbons. With the help of the ribbons tie the bow to the bonnet of your car. After that gently shut the door of your car as when you close it forcibly, the ribbons will snap and all your effort will be wasted.

Keeping these points in mind, you can very easily prepare a bow for decorating the wedding car of yours.

Just Married License Plate

Now that you know how to make a wedding car ribbon, it is time to add a "Just Married" license plate. They have lovely plates that have "bling" all over. Those sparkling faux diamonds and elegant plate font will make your car stand out. Everyone will know that you just got married. One of the best things about decorating your car for the wedding is so that you can take pictures and add them to your photo album. Don't just take pictures of your vehicle though... Have someone take pictures of you and the groom!

By the way, these plates can be found anywhere online or at a wedding specialty shop. Take a look around..
