How are morals related to path of spirituality?

Updated on March 20, 2012

Morals and spirituality are entirely two different things.

Moral values are usually developed over a period of time and is part of our environment. Morality dictates covering entire body for women in certain parts of the world and at the same time we have nudist communities where people advocate against wearing any clothes at all.

Need for Spirituality in my opinion is a basic human nature, something like feeling hungry or thirsty. We feel curious and go on looking for answers to the questions which puzzle us and we end up finding the most vital piece of information that spirituality is and always has been within us. We can only perceive its presence or absence.

Hence, I feel that morals are more related to society and spirituality is more of an individual concept. Unless an individual feels the need for it, spirituality wont bother you, and more you walk on the path of spirituality you will understand yourself better and in turn everything else around you.

It might even be correct to say that more you head towards spirituality, you are realizing the importance of nature and setting yourself free from dilemmas of society such as morals.
